The Northwest gate personnel graded out very well this week. They put forth consistent effort during the early entry period, and when things got testy near kick off they kept their cool. Here is the breakdown.
+2 during the early entry period staff signaled out a family of four for a random pat down. The search revealed an adult aged female was attempting to smuggle a baby bottle with an unknown milky substance into the stadium. The female claimed the bottle was full of formula for the infant they had with them. The subject was initially defiant but when threatened with arrest she complied with instruction.
+2 plain clothes agents stationed at Melrose observed a 45 year old white male shot gunning multiple beers. They followed subject to the gates and signaled to gate personnel who initiated a probably caused pat down. Security agents found and confiscated 4 mini bottles of hard alcohol. Subject was removed from premises and his seat numbers were reported to University of Iowa athletic department for probable season ticket forfeiture.
+2 gate agents observed subject in line smoking. When informed it was against University policy to consume tobacco on University property subject became verbally abusive and combatitive. Subject refused to comply with agent instruction and was tased , detained, and placed in custody of Johnson County Sheriffs Office deputies.

This unit has the most inexperience and it showed. The posted the worst grade for the second week.
-1 Probationary agent was observed forgoing mandatory bag search on elderly female in wheel chair. Agent was reprimanded and advised her no star status would remain at least another week. Agent reminded terroristisms come in many different shapes and sizes.
-1 Agents were allowing patrons with student tickets in the gate against procedure.

These gates deal primarily with big wig donors which can cause problems. They turned in an acceptable performance but have things to work on.
-1 The average wait time to pass through security was only 12 minutes. This is entirely to short, agents were informed that it takes at least 16 min to properly screen each patron. Agents cannot continue to give donors preferential treatment or this gate will be EXTREMELY vulnerable to terroristism attacks.
+1 Gate agent identified big wig donor leaving at half time to go to tailgate and attempt to re-enter at the start of the 3rd Q with a different ticket. Patron advised this is against University Policy and was denied re-entrance.

Another solid and memorable performance.
+1 lead gates with 14 probably caused pat down searches. A total of 18 mini bottles of alcohol confiscated, 3 arrests, and 12 people denied entrance.
-1 gate agents observed being friendly, courteous, and fraternizing with patrons pre-screen, during screen, and post-screen. Gate agents reminded we are not there to make friends, we are there to prevent terrostisms and save lives.
+1 gate agents prevented a group of 4 individuals attempting to enter game with student tickets despite not having a proper student ID and being at the incorrect gate. Subjects claimed to be visiting campus as guests of the athletic department and said they became separated from AD officials. Subjects refused to listen to agents or comply with agent instructions. Agents attempted to apprehend the most vocal subject and a scuffle ensued. Primary agent was not taser certified and only carried a radio and a flashlight and quickly found his life in dangered, agent eventually fought off subject attack by striking subject in the lower leg repeatedly with a flashlight. Subject eventually fled and evaded capture. Subject was described as a thin white male approximately 7 feet tall with short hair with a significant limp from injuries sustained in scuffle. Subject description sent to local law enforcement agencies as well as local area hospitals.
