Pinkel charged with DWI!

Just so there is no confusion, a couple of drinks will not get u a dui. For an averaged sized guy it takes four drinks to get to .08. The human body processes the equivalent of one drink per hour (equal to about .02). For him to blow over the limit he would had to have consumed at minimum four more drinks than the number of hours he had been drinking. That's hard to do on accident.

Too suggest he should have been allowed to drive home is ducking sociopathic.
You are kind of wrong....
I have been through a DUI class and from what I learned in that class an average size guy can have one 12 oz can of beer per hour for 3 hours straight. Anything after that your body cannot process the alcohol fast enough to keep you under the .08 limit. Needless to say it is not hard to be over .08

Pinkel has been suspended a week without pay, another week of pay to charity, and 50 hours of community service. He had one other member of his coaching staff get busted a few years ago for the same offense. I just got jury duty notice in the mail today...hope I get this one.

I am guessing he celebrated a little too much beating a lousy Texas team for the first time in the 11 years he's been here.

Duff, read my comments more carefully. I never suggested the officer do anything I stated he "could" have let him go home and end of story. I also never said anything about him driving did I? I said go home which meant call for a ride and all is better. I don't have the knowledge to calculate BAC, but I'm certain from personal experience that a couple drinks in a 180 man can blow over the limit.

It also depends on when you had your last drink of alcohol. If it was pretty recent... it can cause the test to say you are more intoxicated than you really are.

It might be irrelevant in this case, but I just thought I would add to what you said. :D

Based on Vin's chart, that's about right, if we define average as 170-180lbs. If you weigh 200 it's the 5th beer you worry about.

(having said that, you're still impaired - I would not recommend anyone drive after 4 or even 3 beers)

Yeah, imagine a dui class exaggerating the effects of booze in the body.

the chart vintage links is pretty much word for word what I said, when u consider 200 pounds seems average to a guy pushing 240.

No, the officer can't just let him go home. He lets him go and Pinkel goes on to get into an accident, that officer and therefore the police department is liable.

Not to mention that there are cameras in most squad cars now.

Good grief, he wouldn't be driving! He would be allowed to call for a ride like I said. This happened to me once so it does happen.
