Pierre Jackson and Cory Jefferson

Baylor sure seems to have all the ingredients for an excellent team. 1) an agile 7 footer 2) a good 3-point shooter in Heslip on the wing, 3) a bruisng rebounder/scorer in Jefferson adn 4) one of the quickest/best point guards in the country in Jackson.

How did they lose 14 games?

I hope Jackson has an off night shooting the ball.

Jefferson was a monster the other nite. Austin,Jackson, and Jefferson all are NBA prospects...1st rounders and lottery for Austin, possibly.

I agree that we will need to mix and match our defense possession to possession,as we befuddled Md the other nite with that. Zone will be a needed part of the equation, but must find their shooters...Jackson and their ''oglesby''.

Are you saying Pierre Jackson is a potential first round draft pick? Because I can assure you that he is not.

They lost to Iowa State twice and oh yeah, NORTHWESTERN BY 20...AT HOME!!!

That was eons ago in the college bb world. They lost 8 of 11 in the middle of the season, with some injuries, but finished by winning 7 of 9,with a 23 pt win over #1 seed KU and a loss at ranked OkSt by two points. They are playing their best ball of the year, and have NBA talent that is maturing.

I stand corrected. He is not on the mock drafts at this point. Austin is #15, with Jackson and Jefferson in the top 100 prospect lists at #93 and #78 respectively.
Iowa has no one in the top 100.

Then it begs the question.....With all of this NBA talent on their roster, how did they manage to lose 14 freaking games? Either they aren't that talented, or that talent is selfish, or their coach sucks at managing that talent? Whichever is the case, I like our chances.

Honest question...

Marble > Jackson or Jackson > Marble?

If Marble consistently played like he has these past couple of games and it was against top talent (is the NIT top talent?), then Marble is the answer. However, that has not been the case when looking at his entire body of work, so right now I'd go with Jackson.

Is it because Marble is a ballhog?

Heslip, Walton and Jackson are all small guards, how do they match up with our 6-5, 6-6 starting backcourt?

This. The mismatches favor the Hawks IMO. Team chemistry definitely favors the Hawks. Coaching favors the Hawks. The intangibles favor the Hawks. I have no doubt Baylor has talent and could win this game but I like Iowa a whole lot more.
