Phil Parker

Yes the completions on 3rd and long were frustrating but I gotta give props to the D for the points allowed by them, was only 10 points. Reminded me a lot of some games I watched with Norm at the helm, and a lot of those turned out pretty good, although you can lose some hair in a game!

King and Boyd will see each other in the NFL. As for 4th and 17 play, the TE got away with a push off on that post route to get so open

I thought about that, and will have to watch on DVR for it. One of the people I watched it with thought it was a different guy pushing off.

WTF DUDE?

No seriously. WTF.

QB can't handle pressure, so let's give him all day to throw. What could possibly go wrong?

Phil Parker did NOTHING on that last Pitt drive. Again a major special teams gaff. We should've won that game going away. Love the Koehn kid! But that game should never have come down to that.

Classic ... forums allow folks whose greatest athletic accomplishment was that one yd gain in 7th grade football to become Kiper clones

this is a solid defense ... more than can be said for the comments of the author of this thread

I'm not going to bust up anyone's opinions as even Phil will look back at this game and see areas for improvement. If you look at the entire game we were mostly dominant on defense. We completely shut down the run, forced 2 turnovers and forced pitt to have to make plays to stay in the game. Give pitts def and narduzzi credit because their defense made this a close game. Our defense did it's job. To expect perfect def in game 3 is ridiculous. King can't cover everyone. We have very athletic Sam and Will backers. It's classic defensive football scheme. No different than when we had norm....norm NEVER blitzed and you loved norm...as do i....now Phil blitzes somewhat often but we get mad when he doesn't? There's a reason the def only gave up 2 scores (essentially)..it's called sound defense. Don't give up big plays. Look at two big plays...INT's. Good job iowa defense. Great job phil!

The Pitt TE came straight off the LOS, went about 6 yards, shoved #36 to the outside, then cut inside to the post. Very good technique when the safeties are deep and as a result he was wide open. He pushed him just hard enough to separate but not get called for it. Well coached
