im not a big ufc guy because of all these small events that go on with kids thinking they are ufc fighters because they wear affliction shirts that most didn't make the jv squad in high school. One kid i know that fights all the time and actually wins lost to a girl in high school but this is one match i won't miss! phil davis has worked his way up in the ufc quickly and always like to see a d-1 champ or wrestler for that matter do well in the ufc. People that call wrestlers gay wouldn't think twice bout saying that to one of these guys

I have seen Phil fight a few times. Honestly I don't see it going well for Phil. Unless Rashad has lost a step he is a way better striker than Phil but Phil has long monkey arms...
 
With the fight in Philly, Davis should have some Penn State fans cheering him on. I agree that this might be rushing Davis putting him in there with Evans. Maybe Rashad will be rusty though or viewing the fight as a letdown since his title shot got delayed
 
yea im just excited phil is getting a shot so quickly he'll train his arse off for this fight

A good fight this weekend with GSP and Shields. St Pierre didn't wrestle in America, but he trains with the Canadian national team. I bet he would have been a hell of a D1 wrestler.

GSP has improved his wrestling skills so much it's ridiculous. Look at both his fights against Koscheck and his last two fights against Hughes (both standout wrestlers), he dominated them from a wrestling aspect. Hughes tried to shoot on him numerous times and GSP shrugged them off like Hughes was a amateur.

I just hope for an exciting fight with Shields. GSP's last few fights have been boring with him taking the guy down and dominating him for five rounds.
 
I personally thought the main event sucked. It was a boring fight, which GSP should have dominated. His left eye was really bothering him.

On the other hand, the Aldo fight was awesome. Plus Machida's crain kick was nasty.

I agree that I wasn't impressed with the main event. Shields landed some good shots but having the fight standing meant he took some punishment too. Shields is a good ground guy but once again nobody in that division can get GSP on the ground.

I loved the Hominick-Aldo fight. Hominick's head looked gruesome but he beat the s**t out of Aldo in that last round when he was on top of him. He just ran out of time.
