PGA Champ thread - I have to pull for Stricker

It is a log jam at the top. I would love to see Steve Stricker get a major. The guy fought off the total pull-duck hooks 20 years ago and was comeback player of the year twice, twice mind you.

He is very well thought of and said to be very friendly. He gave tiger some putting tips last year and tiger, who wasnt putting that well for a couple of years, went out and won 5 tourneys in 2013,

Stricker has been close in the majors 5-10 times but just cant get that key shot late on Sunday.

Westwood is another guy who is getting up there but not sure if his chipping and putting will hold up as usual. Lets see what happens.

Anyone but Rory. He's as interesting as a box of turds.

haha that is funny but damn he is a great player when he has all his shots working. I read he made a slight alignment fix and you can also tell his concentration is back.

Last year I saw him chunk and chili dip way more than a handful of chip shots and for a pro that is all concentration. He probably had too much of that tennis player on his mind.

Agreed. He can play lights out and those mistakes he's made before, like going OB hasn't affected him at all. He's probably going to win this weekend unless something bad happens.

It would be nice for Strick to win, but if you put your money on anyone but Rory at this point, odds are that you would lose your money.

I think the cut should be E (maybe +1).

Does anyone think Tiger claws his way up there?

I just don't see it happening. I've never seen him so lost on a golf course as I did yesterday.

No, he is 12 back now and just missed a 4 ft birdie putt, he is toast.

Rory just went low again

The leaderboard is chocked full of great golfers, young and old, and guys with lots of stories.

I dont care that Tiger missed the cut. I tune into golf on saturday and sunday between chores and projects and I havent missed tiger a bit. Actually I hope CBS doesnt do a Tiger-a-thone today thinking they have to show a bunch of tiger replays and lowlights and to talk about him all the time thinking that is the only way to hold viewer interest.

This is a major, Phil is going for #7 I believe, westwood and stricker are older and going for #1.

If you cant get excited about young guns watching Jason Day and Ricky Fowler put shots right on the flag then you are not a real fan of the game.

Jim Furyk is trying desperately to finish a tourney and get the 2nd major after bobbling away a few late on Sunday.

And then there are Rory and Sergio which look likes a matchup that could last for about 5-10 years.

Could Rory have major #4 by 25??? Wow.

This is going to be one hell of a finish tomorrow afternoon. Some great golf unfolded today.

Today has been the bet day of golf that I can remember in a while. So many big names at the top of the list and all of them can make a break. Rory doesn't even look like the Rory of old at this point, the dude has some swagger.

Rory barely lipped out a couple of birdie putts or he would be two more under par.

I thought Day and Fowler let a lot of chances slip by.

The course is so wet they are throwing darts at the pins and drives arent running through fairways.

Who can have the hot putter today, Stricker again can be one of the best putters.

Phil has been playing well on Sundays, as if his thursday rounds are as he said 'to get the nerves out', and by sunday he is rolling it.

It might be Stenson's day to get a major.

Yeah, this has been some great golf. I did not see Rory coming back after his first 9. He has showed some guts.

And Stenson was putting best of all of them and then he 3 putts from about 15 feet. crazy.

Just some great shots and untimely bad shots

Not really a golf guy, but that was entertaining.............it really feels like Rory is about to make a serious run.
