Thanks I hadn't seen this years rankings so I didn't know what competition he'd have for the top spot. I am far from a UNI fan but because of my name you can assume what you want. I'll assume the boat is actually a boat then as well. As far as having offers from Clemson, Creighton, Illinois and Iowa State I know for sure Iowa State didn't offer him. Haven't seen anywhere where anyone besides Drake and Iowa offered. The ESPN offer list is not accurate. Not knocking on the kid just don't see how everyone is talking about how much of a steal a recruit could be when its pretty obvious nobody was going after him. If you have to wait til the spring of your senior year of basketball to get offers you shouldn't have people expecting you to play. Hopefully he proves me wrong

It has become glaringly obvious to those that follow Iowa high school bball that Jok is the best player in the state by a decent margin.
He’s averaging 25 ppg in the CIML on a good team, if he didn’t already sign with Iowa his recruiting would have picked up significantly.

Hopefully Morgan and West meet Jok's team in the HS tourney this year so they can once again show how much talent there also is on the East side of the state. Jok is the best player in the state this year but Morgan and Dondre Alexander are not that far behind. (with Lohaus also closing the gap) Will be interesting to see who turns into the better collegiate player.

I had read on scout that many felt that Morgan has a better future in football, plus he had more/better offers than in basketball.
Morgan was a very good WR for West but has a much better upside in B-Ball. Think he'll surprise many when he play's at the collegiate level. Dondre Alexander might have had just as many football offers as b-ball but I'm not sure if he is mentally tough enough to excel at either in college. (incredible athletic talent though)

No what I'm asking is why is everyone on HN blowing up about this kid when nobody else wanted him? You can say he can come back from an injury and be a world beater but if that was true why didn't other schools go after him. Hopefully he comes in and is a great player for 4 years just don't see why everyone sees it a steal. College coaches can see potential if they thought he had it they would have offered.

No one called him a "world beater" by the way and if they did it was probably Herby and you can't take anything he said as fact or sane.
He was widely considered a top 20 player in the nation in the '13 recruiting class. He had a really bad injury earlier in his career that required knee surgery that has taken well over a year or so if not more to get back to be able to even really play and he still isn't 100%.

I'm as much a UNI and ISU fan as you are an actual boat. All it comes down to is why does everyone need to post this kids stats, Jon Miller feels the need to tweet about every FT he makes, etc. Nobody else wanted this kid for a reason plain and simple. Just cuz he used to be a top 20 recruit is like saying we are good at football because we won the Orange Bowl back in the day. If coaches thought he was going to come back to form and be as good as he used to be they would have offered. If he comes back then everyone can talk about how good he is but until then you're wasting your breath
