Peter Jok #10 rated prospect

Seems like a lot of holes in this list... Harrison brothers have committed to UK, Again Louisville.

I like Jok and am extremely excited about him committing to Iowa but for now I will stay with Rivals as my recruiting website.

Well....that is until Jon releases his monster!

How cool is it to see any list like that and have the highest name on the list that is committed be to Iowa.

This is from ESPN but they only rate him at 70. Take a look at the bottom line and tell me if that matches up with the rating...seems like a lot of sites are kind of in the wait and see group just like all the coaches who missed out on him.

Strengths:
Peter is a very good shooter. He has range to 22 feet. He has a nice skill set for a player so young. He can do some things off the dribble and has excellent size for a perimeter player. Jok is versatile and can play either the small forward or shooting guard positions. He can post smaller defenders and score in the paint. He is a great player now and still has a very good upside.

Weaknesses:
Jok is good offensively but needs to improve on the defensive end of the floor. As he gets stronger he should improve defensively. He should also improve as a rebounder as his body gets stronger. His handle is solid but could use a little sharpening as he improves and becomes even better on the perimeter.

Bottom Line:
Jok is one of the top players in the 2013 class. He has great size and a very nice offensive package. His shooting is very good with excellent range. Jok is a solid passer, can score off the dribble and has a nice basketball IQ. Peter is good now and should continue to improve. He is on his way to being the next great player from Iowa.

The writeup appears correct.
I wonder if they adjust the rating after his injury and didn't change any of the description.

I'll be interested to see what the rating services due to him after this winter.

This is why Van Coleman is made fun of and mocked in the recruiting circles. He's thought of as a joke by his peers

I'm as big a Pete fan as there is, but to rate him #10 without seeing him play this year once finally back to full strength is just crazy and based on nothing but past expectations. Could he be #10? Absolutely, but he's first going to have to show the athleticism and talent that got him to those lofty rankings prior to his knee injury. I absolutely believe he'll be a special player for the Hawks, but this ranking is a bit premature.

"only" 70. If he's 70 and not 10 I think we still take that. No complaints here.

my guess is VC is trying to make a splash and make a big bet on Jok regaining pre-injury form and improving. Then in 2-3 years say "see, I had Jok in top 10 coming out of HS when no one else had in top 100". He looks smart then and can say he has eye for talent. If he misses, meh. Everyone misses a bunch on these, but few find the diamond in rough.

Hopefully,it will help with next years recruiting. I'm sure Van Coleman knows how high a healthy Jok is in the rankings. When Jok visited he was here when a lot of other recruits, for the next year, were here.

Some more than others. VC is a complete tool and knows no more about basketball/prospects than many on this board. He's married to my 6th Grade teacher. Her son was a decent bball player for North Cedar, but of course VC had him pegged as a much, much bigger recruit than he ever was. He ended up averaging less than 2pt/g at UNI.
