The meltdown about the offense is understood. At the same time, let's remember that Wisconsin has one of the best defenses in the country. Yes they exposed Iowa...but they held Michigan to 14 and everybody else way below their average.

Can they improve the WR position? Absolutely. And keep in mind, most teams don't have a D like UW (except Michigan of course). Let's hope that if Iowa gets to a bowl game they don't play a team with a great defense. I'd like to see the year end with a win. I don't care who its against-I really don't.

We scored 14 against Rutgers as well....

Our staff doesn't make adjustments. It's so obvious our WR struggle with the routes that we use, so instead of adjusting plays, we just do the same thing.

No rollouts. Very little play action. We are so set in our ways that when we do try to get fancy, the play falls apart so bad.

We are so far into the season and hoping that our team can improve. We don't have a young team either. If we were starting 7 freshmen, yeah I'd expect some lumps. But this is with experience.

My perspective is the offense will always be junk as long as KF is here.

The frustration is with the lack of imagination from Iowa on offense. Believe me, I am only a fan, and am not pretending to know the ins and outs, so I refrain from providing a litany of plays that Iowa should run that would be successful - I have no way of knowing specifics, e.g., they should throw long more, they should run reverses, they should do [blank]. However, I know predictable football when I see it, and Iowa is predictable as anyone.

I recall Hayden Fry coming in and taking the same players from the year before who couldn't do anything well on offense, and creating some exciting football. Harbaugh did it with Michigan, too. Don't tell me it can't be done with this current team - there are enough good athletes available. This is on the offensive coaching staff, including Ferentz.

They have a bye week to roll something out to shows the offense has a pulse. Ever hopeful, but I'm not holding my breath.

We've played 5 home games this year and in 3 of them, we haven't even reached 300 yds of total offense. In 3 road games, we've scored only 14 in 2 of them (which is the first time since the mid 1920s we've won 2 road games scoring 14 pts or less).

In my mind, it has nothing to do with the defenses we are playing and everything to do with our talent and schemes on offense. I recommend everyone listen to Pat Harty's podcast from today and listen to Don Patterson talk about Wiskys defense and what SHOULD have been done against it.

Thanks for the podcast tip. Love listening to them.
