Perrault tells Iowa fans how they should look at the Insight Bowl

Here is the only reason why I posted anything in this thread to begin with.

Your post (restating what Perrault said):

Jon's post:

While Perrault is "such a genius" (laden with sarcasm), I would venture to guess you weren't so cynical when/if you read Jon's piece. I don't agree with the position...I'm only comparing them in that they share the same belief about tonight's bowl game and the corresponding double standard reaction to each. That's it.

I have been listening to Jon since his early days on the Deace show. Sometimes I agree with him, sometimes I don't, but I always respect what he has to say about the Hawkeyes.

Normally I would say that Matt following Jon's lead when it comes to Iowa FB is a good thing. Unfortunately, Matt has proven that he is not interested in "getting it right" as he would have you think (see Matt's take on Ricky Stanzi). And that is why comparing Jon and Matt is a travesty.

Comparison isn't necessary...

Guy A and Guy B say the same thing. Guy A is derided for his comment. Guy B is respected for his.

If Guy A was Rob Howe instead of Matt Perrault, does this thread happen, inserting Howe's name instead of Perrault's? I don't think so...

Unless Guy A's reason for making a statement = Guy B's reason for making a statement, then Guy A's words do not have the same meaning as Guy B's words, even though Guy A's words on the surface = Guy B's words on the surface.

Mother Theresa and BTK may make the same statement (I.E. "I would love to watch your kids") but you may want to consider WHY each is making that statement before leaving your kids with them.
