Iowa looks really sluggish outside of White. Gessell has hit some shots too. Jok really is struggling and Utoff can't hit anything right now.

Iowa up 32-24 with 3:28 left before half.

Iowa looks extremely slow and out of it tonight. Lots of poor shots and lazy play overall. Pepperdine is hanging around and it's not because they are a good team or even playing that well. Jok, Utohff, and Woodbury really struggling right now and White has been quite after scoring 8 points early. Gabe also missed two free throws prior to half.

35-30 at half. Iowa needs to wake up.

This is obviously a rebuilding year for Iowa. Rebuilding from what I'm not sure (do you rebuild from losing 1 player?) but that's the excuse I'm using. I'd take an NIT bid at this point.

In the middle of the 2nd half, Uthoff had a play where he got the ball on the wing, but above the top of the key. He took 2 power dribbles to the FT line and pulled up for a jumper which he made. That's very hard to defend. He should be taking about 4-5 of these per game.

I guess I inadvertently started the game thread? I am now 1-0 as the thread starter. A little sluggish by the Hawks, but not surprising on a short turnaround after traveling to NYC.

Between the move your talking about and him coming off a screen, I don't think late game situations will be an issue. It's also easier to run plays off that look using Uthoff as a decoy.
