Peoria Journal Star Article on........

I grew up in West Branch Iowa from 1978 to March of 1988, my junior year. Our family then moved to Princeville, IL. People in West Branch had offered me to stay and live with them for my senior year, as I was voted one of the football captains, played three sports and that was my home...as I recall, my parents didn't outright say no. But I elected to move to Illinois and remain with them.

Though I lived there for a much shorter time, my Princeville HS friends are the people I am most close to...probly because I just turned 17, had my senior year there then a year of junior college, and we were tight...I guess those years were like dog years.

I lived in the Peoria area for two and a half years before college, then summers during college, and then two years after college. Still go back there are few times a year. I am pretty blessed to have two hometowns, places that mean so much to me.

I still live in the Peoria area and as you well know, there's a bunch of Hawkeyes in this area.

I met Jon at WEEK while he was interning there. He was a great guy and I can understand his dislike of the hours in TV. If I had not met my wife there I would not have lasted the 12 years that I did in the business.

It is great to see him doing so well. Thank you for all of the information and entertainment you provide and for finding a way to do it without a membership fee.

Good luck on the show tonight. I will be watching.
