Penn State is good on defense. Its their offense that is bad.
Fortunately Iowa's offense matches up very well against PSU's defense and Iowa's defense matches up very well against PSU's offense.

Iowa's defense has improved a lot since week two. They continue to improve every game. The offense has a lot of scoring potential. Probably more than they've had in a very long time.

This is based off what? Pitt shredded us for 3 quarters and ULM (horrible team) even moved it on us

Alvis to DE and Bernstine inserted in the starting has helped....however, Neilsen needs to become the 2nd best Leo LB of the Ferentz era that everyone claims he is. The '09 Binns would be nice.....A more dominate Daniels would ease my concerns.

In the ISU game they missed a lot of assignments, tackles, in short they were totally unsure of their assignments on a lot of plays. In the ISU game they gave up 279 passing yards and 108 rushing yards.
Against Pitt(a better team) they gave up 255 yards passing, got 2 INT's and more importantly they limited Pitt's offense in the second half. They also held Graham, who at the time was the leading rusher to 97 yards. R Graham is currently the second leading rusher in the nation with over 700 yards.
Watch the ISU game, then right after watch the Pitt game. The defense is better. Not great, but they couldn't have got much worse than they were in the ISU game. They had moved some personnel around and it helped. Against a weak L-M team they played solid defense. They are still a work in progress but they are not the same defense as in week two.
