Penn State ex-President Spanier, other administrators sentenced in Sandusky case

This whole sad affair is a slap in the face of all the victims. From the jail time to the slap on the wrist fines.
Not to mention the NCAA sanctions being way too light in the first place then lifted. If there ever was a case that begged for the death penalty this is it. State Penn now provides perfect cover for anything less than above board in places like the SEC. Everyone can point to Happy Valley and compare the Sandusky/Paterno scandal to whatever transpired in the Deep South. Ain't no way something like a bag man giving a player an Escalade compares to child rape.

I'm still wondering how top administrators can be guilty of these crimes (which amounted to not maintaining proper governance in the university), but nothing was ever said in their accreditation reviews (which are explicitly supposed to review governance).
