Penn State 3 point favorites...

RPI
Iowa 131
Penn State 132

Sagarin
Iowa 109
Penn State 124

That's about as tight as you are going to find any matchup.

Penn State is really good at home and Iowa has been really good on the road.

Penn State has been off for 5 days coming off a win. Iowa has been off for 7 days coming off a blowout loss.

Stormin isn't doing Live Chat. Because of this I would give the edge to PSU.

Looking at the remaining schedule...we might not be favored in another game the rest of the year. Maybe NW at home....maybe.

Iowa is 2-6 on the road, have lost their last 4 road games, and are losing road games by an average of 16 points.

They are really bad on the road. What makes you think they're any good on the road?

That was my impression ghost, thanks for.the stats. When I read the op I scratched my head. I thought we've been awful on the road.

We were good on the road against Minnesota and Wisconsin...not so much the others. This is a game we could win. Let's make sure Glover doesn't go off for 25 tonight.

This game will be determined if Penn State can miss those wide open looks like they did the last time Iowa played them. Stop Frazier's dribble drive and that floater shot of his, make him kick it out, and hope they keep missing. Penn State is the worst shooting team in the Big Ten.

one of the worst shooting teams in the nation. But still managed to shoot over 50% in the second half against us last time...I believe.

Well...it was 5 points.

Hahahahaha. Perfect. I was just laughing to myself about how many posters are upset still when the Hawks lay an egg. Nobody in this thread seemed to be expecting a cakewalk.

I do understand the disappointment, though: If we were coming off of the only two twenty-loss seasons in school history, or maybe if we were going to a venue where Purdue lost by 20, or if our team CLEARLY was improved overall from the year before but having severe ups and downs, THEN I wouldn't expect consistently solid performances. But we're a freaking dynasty that started 4-6 in Big Ten play. We're entitled to consistency!

Things that happened tonight:

People continued calling out McCabe for not contributing. He is a sophomore who had back-to-back 20-point games a few weeks ago. He always hustles.

Plenty called out Gatens at halftime. Probably had the worst shooting half of his career followed by one of the best. It happens.

People talked about wanting Melsahn to transfer because he missed some FTs. If you can't see that the kid's effort has improved greatly the last 3-4 games, then you need to watch some ball between some of the 204 posts you contribute to the game thread. I don't know why he suddenly, at that time, went from being a ~70% FT shooter to what feels like about 40%, but get off the kid for a week or two.

Last year, we were about like Penn State is this year, and we beat the #6 team in the land at home. It freaking happens. All phases of our game got better in the second half. Wish we would have won, but we didn't. It's a multi-year rebuilding project; there will be disappointing nights.
