I decided I wasn’t going to buy it. Screw them and their games. The more fans that do it then the more often the Networks will keep buying the rights to the broadcast.
Then my youngest son tells me he paid for the subscription and gives me the password. Damn kids anyways!!!
I’ll cuss him out after I watch the game today. Maybe if he buys me dinner after the game I won’t be so mad! All I got to say is we better win today or else he is going to have to pony up for desert too.
All kidding aside I am just happy to know this Brian thingy is over. It is a relief to know that we aren’t going have go through this for another season. Now today we can rest a little easier while we punt after three and outs.
I honestly wasn’t going to pay peacock on the last game. My son felt bad and did pay for the subscription. I went with him to the local Mazda dealership when he found a beautiful fully loaded Mazda 6 with just 10k miles on it. Previously, it was a lease by an older gentlemen locally here in Provo, Utah. The car booked at over $34k but they were asking $28k. I sat there listening to the finance guy talk about a seven year contract at 7.8 percent interest.
I looked out thei large window of their showroom and sitting across was sitting my bank. I told them to sit tight until I got back from talking to my bank. They said they would.
I go across the street and talk the loan officer and ask what the interest charge on a car loan would be if I or my son took out a car loan? He responds that he could get it down to about 7%. “What????” I asked him how much interest are you paying me in my money market account? He responds that I am getting the grand percentage of one half of one percent. “WTF?????” I then tell him to write me out a cashier’s check for $28k and make it out to the Mazda dealership for across the street. Inside I am fuming at my back but I keep it cool and get up and leave and return to the dealership. I walk over and sit down with my son and his wife and after a few minutes the finance guys comes over and ask well folks have you decided how you want to finance this yet. I emphatically state yes we have and pull out the cashiers check and put it on the table in front of everyone.
You should have seen my daughter in laws face. I turn to my son and say here are my terms. You will pay me $400 a month for this loan until it is paid off and all I want is 1% a year interest a year on the balance until it is paid off, Thus saving him thousands of dollars over using the dealership’s financing. I got a very minimal increase on what my bank, thieves, were giving me.
So yeah, he was happy to pay for the Peacock subscription and give the password. He loves following the Hawkeyes as much as his dad. In fact he sent me a text about the news about Brian being let go. We were both greatly relieved at the news. Like I said it beats sitting around until the end of the season waiting to know when this suffering would come to end. Not joking, it has been painful to watch the offense. A joy to watch the defense, and numbing over all.
Go hawks let’s win today!!!
