Well, that's just a random weird, self-righteous old man rant.

Yet where would we be without people who were too self-righteous to just take the easy way out?

Derek Pagel nearly left the team after his freshman year. He could have said no to all the hard work and determination that it would take to become a starter, and just gone to Wartburg and been a star.

Pat Angerer nearly left because of all the injuries he suffered as an underclassman.

Shonn Greene could have easily just given up on school altogether in 2007.

There are countless similar stories out there, even just related to Iowa football. There's a reason that we find stories like this nice to hear: because it's the way things should be, yet it's becoming more and more rare.

The act of working through it isn't self righteous however the fan bases reaction to a player transferring is in my opinion. People get upset because it negatively effects their fan experience. Calling someone out for doing it, or a majority of the things Spank listed, is in a way because people change all the time.

yeah you're right, divorces are never a good thing. Any couple who just sits around fighting and can't get along should just work through it and be miserable. that's a healthy life.
marriage should NOT have been considered in this case....just saying.
