Pathetic and embarassing

I love it when "Fans" call their own team "Pathetic".

I think its safe to say that the basketball program has lost the fans when this happens.

Then let them buy a UNC shirt and stop trolling our team. Any kid who decides to wear the black and gold will never be pathetic or embarrassing to me if their only fault is a poor shot.

What else can be said? McCaffrey had a year to evalute this team and it's obvious he did not push the right buttons in the offseason. To go with our cast of role players, we brought in projects? Despite what many think, Iowa is not the only program to go through struggles and have to rebuild. Other schools with coaches making less $ and with inferior facilities find players. I thought we have this wealth of experience on the bench with connections far and wide. It appears the roof has the same holes it did last year.

There is nothing wrong with calling them bad. They're bad.

They are not, however, pathetic or embarrassing. Like I said, any kid with a Tiger Hawk on his shirt will not lose my respect just because they don't win games.

Same for me. It hasn't been good basketball the last few games, but as far as on-court attributes go, the only thing that would be 'pathetic and embarrassing' is if the team gives up. Give them time: they lost to South Dakota State (among others in non-con) last year before getting everybody up in a tizzy by beating Purdue. They'll still compete.

Oglesby and White aren't really projects. They actually both have very refined game for freshmen. They just are young, scrawny, and are acclimating to the college game. Olaseni, the one true 'project,' has actually shown some pretty natural moves in his short time on the court, imo.

Also, Fran did sign a pretty high-profile JUCO who would have contributed right away, but we all know something happened to prevent that.

Fran knows what's wrong, and each group of guys he brings in here and (hopefully) keeps will fix it. Just to warn some of the crazies, though: it won't be fixed by the time we play ISU.

Yes,if we had the option I would vote the OP off the hawkeye island. Constant negativity on both fb and bb boards. How does anyone actually enjoy engaging on these boards with that approach? I always wonder if they are any different in their real life? What a bummer being a hawk fan is for these types. never an ounce of joy for years at a time.
