Pat Forde and others saying Georgia belongs in CFPlayoffs???

Agreed, but AL would have been in had they lost.

Alabama probably would have got in just like last year 1) because they only had one loss unlike Georgia this year, and 2) because there one loss was just against one of the top 3 teams not to a purdue or iowa in a blowout

I dont like it but that is the way it is, GA already had one loss prior to their Champ game so they couldnt afford to lose another

That's such a load of crap, though. The ACC, Pac 12 and Big Ten West are all hot freaking garbage. The Big 12 is lucky Texas was decent this year (but still bad enough to lose to Maryland). The only conference that even has a semblance of the championship game looking like a playoff round is the SEC. Maybe the Big 12 will get back there if Texas rights its ship, but even with them, Oklahoma and Texas already play during the year.

I'm a Big Ten homer, but in no world does the Big Ten West ever send a formidable enough foe to face OSU, Michigan or PSU to warrant that being a playoff round. Programs like Florida and Tennessee may be down, but those programs are two recruiting classes and finding (or paying like Auburn allegedly did with Cam) a great QB away from being good enough to be national champs. The three historical best teams in the Big Ten West (Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin) aren't even in the same stratosphere as Florida, Georgia or Tennessee.

This is true, If Iowa was 13 and Zero this year they would have got in beating a highly ranked wisky at the time, winning at PSU, at PUrdue if purdue had beat down OSu as they did, and beating a decent NW team then OSU in the Champ game.

Heck, I Iowa was 12-1 with their only loss being the kicked away game vs Wisky and then beating OSU in the Champ Game they might be close to getting in.

Lose close early in the year against a decent team and you can make it ala Okla. if you have enough other very good wins.

I just dont think OU had that many good wins personally .

OK4P, I think you made a mistake not saying the Big 12 is not hot garbage and puke. The Big 12 had one really good team in OU, a few decent in ISU, texas, and W VA.

The Big 10 had two top 10 in OSU and Mich and one lurking right there in PSU plus several decent teams

Sometimes the NCAA basketball brackets are uneven but they never decide to let two teams from one bracket into the final 4. They let them decide it on the court. Just like they let Alabama and Georgia decide it on the field.

If they had 4 p5 conferences instead of 5, and ND was part of one, they would never, ever, have two teams from one conference in the 4 team playoff. If that's true, then I dont see why they allow it now.

Agreed. But I stand behind my initial post. The problem with a 4 team playoff is the question of whether it should be the 4 best teams or the 4 most deserving teams. In the scenario of Bama losing, I think a 1 loss bama (and defending NC) is still one of the 4 best teams in the nation as well as one of the 4 most deserving teams to make the playoffs. That argument doesn't stand for a 2 loss team.
