Passed him By

No the game hasnt passed kirk by. Norm retired. KOK got sick of being the whipping boy. Game day coaching and clock skills are the same. Maybe if Kirk can pull in a Banks or a Greene type players then Kirks offense will work.

It means they are trolling or have run out of any logical arguments.

Whose running out of arguments? Every game Kirk gives new very logical arguments.Though they are still the same old mistakes I mean arguments Kirk just keeps making them. Same arguments different staff. Same arguments different players. Same mistakes same kirk.

So the game has not passed him by...he was just never good in the first place?

Oh, you're precious!

except that is what hok fans said about norm (game passed by) and of course Keefe took took the O out of Iowa's offense.....i agree about what you say about keefe though - he was the whipping boy. iowa fan is sad.

Kirk is very good at putting a good team on the field. He was always bad at game day coaching and clock management. Even when we were winning his weaknesses showed.

I understand that many people have been the whipping boy for Iowa. You can not find a time when I said anything bad about Norm or KOK. If people dont agree with me fine, but I have not switched who I blame. Im also not one of the many who goes crazy on game days on this site to turn back around a couple of days later when they calm down from their cryfest.

I dont think anything has passed by kirk. I dont think he has ever been a good gameday coach. Every year he makes head scratching mistakes heck every game he makes those the mistakes.

Ooth and I have the view that kf's talents do not suit him to be a head football coach at all. He's a good o line coach. That's what he's gifted at. The reason for the success he's had is because of the good coaches he had hired at one time. Once they left, the recruiting went down hill and this is what you are seeing now. A team that has bottom half big ten talent.

This past year you saw kf panic in firing some bad position coaches (which was needed a few years ago) and hire some, hopefully, good ones.

Yes, I realize this is the minority view. I have a friend that totally hates what's going on now with Iowa football, but he's loyal to kf till death. We have some good arguments.

So let me guess... if the Iowa program does indeed start moving back in the right direction then tweedle-dum and tweedle-dee here will claim it's all because of Greg Davis, Phil Parker, and the other new coaches. It will have nothing to do with the guy in charge LOL. That will be their excuse to justify their beliefs. Must be an interesting way to live life inside of a sound booth where the only opinion you'll consider accurate is your own. Nevermind how the professionals feel about KF. They don't know what they are talking about.

Ahhh more name calling from the superior military man. Now did the other nurses teach you what LOL meant?

2009 disagrees with your statement.

Are you talking about the year that Iowa had Ricky Stanzi and two of the best wrs in Iowa history? How many players from that defense are in the NFL? Who was the OC? Who was the DC?
So he gets no credit for recruiting Stanzi or anyone else? You seem to have the deck stacked against Kirk pretty hard, since you've clearly laid out that anything bad that happens is because of his inability to coach, but anything good that happens is because of the actions of someone else.

It makes it very, very difficult to take anything you say in this area even slightly seriously, which is about all I gave you to begin with.

Try again sport. Go back and reread the thread and you get back to me when you figure it out.

I wonder if Freed or OOtH can name all the good head coaches that have terrible DC and OC? Isn't that one of the single biggest functions of a head coach, hiring quality Assistant. Coaches??? How many other HC out there can keep high quality DC or OC at the school for over a decade? I mean if the DC and OC think they are working for an incompetent HC, one would think they would move onto another location.

it's amazing, but your boy Ferentz is responsible for all the parts of the 2009 team. Stanzi, the WRs, the assistant coaches. The 5th year seniors from the 2005 recruiting class. All of them. Isn't it remarkable that Iowa's all-time leading receivers in almost all categories comes during his tenure?
