A couple of things here, 1) they werent throwing at king hardly at all so why not rotate a safety away from king to middle of the field and rotate the other safety over behind mabin, 2) maybe because Illinois runs the hurry up offense but the hawks didnt blitz until the last two possessions which to me gave Lunt too much time and let him get too comfortable, and 3) too many linebackers on quick wide receivers on 2nd and 3rd and long.
Yeah, I know Phil Parker knows a lot more about defense than I do but one of the reasons the hawks under KF have given up so many third and longs in 17 years is not play two extra dee backs in 3rd and long, in my opinion, and not blitzing much.
