Pac 10 v Big 10 to START the season?

Yeah, we don't really get screwed out of home field advantage in January. It's kinda by choice. Also, we usually hold our own with respect to fan support.

Agree, but teams like USC and UCLA have an advantage in Cali and SEC teams have the advantage in FL even if Iowa fans make up 50%+ of the stands.

This is a stupid idea and there is no way that the Big 10 should agree to it. If the Pac 10 wants to start a regular season opening series with us then they should have to travel here at least half the time. Does anyone think that the Pac 10 would agree to playing us if all of the games were located in Big 10 country? Not a chance.

Why do we always have to be complainers?

People complained last year that GT was so much closer to Miami than we were and that it gave them an unfair advantage...and we're not used to warm weather in January...and it's going to be past our player's bedtime when we play Arizona...and we shouldn't have to go to the coolest environment in college football to play someone in what will be the most talked about preseason series in the history of college football...why can't they come to somewhere that will make it no different than an average preseason game between two BCS conference teams???

At some point we need to start embracing the big stage. Furthermore...we need to stop building in excuses for our teams before games are even played.

Im not scared. Just dont want to see this again

YouTube - 2003 Orange Bowl - USC vs Iowa

You don't want to see Iowa play on a big stage and hang in there with maybe the best college football team in a decade and have chances to be leading the game at halftime?

Why...because we ended up getting beat?

Maybe we should just leave the Big Ten and go independent and just play directional schools and service academies from hear on out. That is...unless Navy continues to get better.

CAARHawk, the non-AQ BCS forced invite requirement is actually a requirement for all BCS bowls and the Rose Bowl held out an extra round (4 years) over the other 3 BCS bowls. Does it suck? Yeah. But make sure you get your facts straight.

I'm for a rotational game at a pro stadium site if at least half the games are played in the midwest. As far as using the Rose Bowl, it's alright, but I'd rather have it as others have mentioned in Chicago, KC, Indy, etc. as well as San Diego, Denver, San Fran, etc.

I like the concept- it could be pretty cool... nothing seems to be sacred in college sports anymore, why not?!

Hawkcp please oh please point out where in my post did i imply that I didnt want Iowa to play on a big stage against one of the best teams in football. All i said was I dont want to see us take turns getting slaughtered. I think any fan of any team could say that. I'm all for it. I think we need a better OOC schedule as it is. Stop trying to boost your little man syndrome ego by picking a fight on a message board about nothing.
