Over/Under On #57 Ranked Recruiting Class After Signing Day

We currently sit ranked #57 in the January 28, 2015 rivals.com recruiting rankings. In the same league as Purdue, South Florida, Kansas and Cincinnati. We have 17 commits and will probably get 4 more...and may lose a last minute decommit along the way. We are still in on some 3 and 4 star recruits who could go Iowa's way...but we are also in on several UNI recruits who are just waiting for the staff to make their day by offering them a scholly.

So with all of the uncommitted prospects out there, where does everyone think this class ranks when everything shakes out? Above or below the #57 rank? While my fingers are crossed on landing a last min LB or DL stud who will boost or ranking, my bet is we finish slightly worse than #57 due to signing some last minute 2 star fallbacks with blonde hair and blue eyes.

3 threads at once, all bagging on the staff? Nice work Iowalaw, why don't you misspell some more kids names while you are at it.

Doesn't matter. Anything lower than the 25-30 range won't make much difference. Just continue the tradition of mediocrity.

We are now up to #53. Some positive momentum going on. We will likely crack the top 50 if we can land a 4 star or a couple more 3 stars.

I would like to see Brandon Scherff crush you for making this racist statement. Some of the best Hawks we've ever had fall into that category.

That last statement just took my breath away. It made me ask myself:

The 2 star fallback we got yesterday doesn't fit that profile does he?
Does Sunshine have blue eyes?
Doesn't that fit Gronk's profile?
He doesn't think that only black guys can play football does he?
Is it that great of a life to be so negative all of the time as the OP seems to be?

Haven't you ever heard of the stereotype that black prople are better at football than white people? I think his comment is based off that.

So we can add veiled racism to Iowalaw's accomplishment list, in addition to spelling kids names wrong and complaining about kids with high GPA's?

For the sake of our law school's reputation, I hope 'iowalaw' refers to a deputy sheriff or convicted meth dealer, not a practicing attorney.

There are 3 major recruiting sites. Here's where we stand today:

SCOUT: #45, 2.89 average - http://iowa.scout.com/a.z?s=8&p=9&c=14&yr=2015
RIVALS: #53, 2.83 - http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/teamrank/2015/all/all
24/7: #55 - http://247sports.com/Season/2015-Football/CompositeTeamRankings

Of the 3 sites' Midwest analysts, I consider Scout's the best, so I give that score a bit more weight. 24/7 is stronger in Texas; Rivals has slipped badly in many regions as Yahoo ignores them. Regardless, this year's class is shaping up to be average for the Ferentz era. Not exceptional, not a disaster.

Uh, yeah, no kidding:confused:

It's a stereotype because it's true. Black people in general are better at football than white people. If it's not true, the NFL must be extremely racist against white people because there are way less white players than black players. Pointing out the obvious doesn't make someone racist.

Well thank god there is no affirmative action in professional sports. Diversity is supposed to be good though right? But some of my favorite white players at Iowa are Dallas Clark, Pat Angerer, Tim Dwight, Kevin Kasper, Mitch King, AJ Edds, Jeff Tarpinian, Tyler Sash, Brandon Wegher, Brian Bulaga, Ricki Stanzi, James Ferentz, Brandon Scherff, Drew Tate, .

That is wonderful that some of your favorite players are white. You are quite the humanitarian. I am going to guess that some of your favorite players are black as well? What does that have to do with anything? No one said there is no such thing as a good white player. It is, however, the fact that Iowas fallback players are almost always small town white guys with no other offers and not exactly 4.4 speed. Maybe other coaches are racist against white guys and that is why they don't recruit them?

I'm guessing if Iowa's population had more black players to pick from we would land a lot more fall back players of that race. Jo schmo black guy with no offers is better than the joe schmo white guy. Agreed.
