Is there any chance at all that we have our best possible option in place there? There is always the debate on here on whether or not Kirk puts his best players on the field. But isn't this position undeniable proof that he doesn't?
I get there is a fine line between picking the guy who is most likely to make plays and picking a guy who is least likely to make mistakes but this choice here is down right ridiculous.
Kirk has became so cautious on choosing his players that we are left with an offense that has to have 15 successful plays in a row to score.
We have a punt returner that has no lateral quickness when usually you play the guy on your team with the most lateral quickness. We have a qb who doesn't throw to a reciever unless he has 5 yards of separation, and when he does, he shows you why he normally doesn't. We have a runningback who hasn't had a rush for 40 yards or more in 3 full seasons. And we have a field full of slow recievers who drop balls wecause we won't play our fast recievers because they drop balls.
This whole season has been just the perfect storm of head coach, offensive coordinator, quarterback, and runningback. One or 2 of them alone you might be able to get away with. But all 4 at the same time is just too much safe to overcome.
