Our problem is structural, it can't be fixed.

The problem with Iowa's staff is they just think theyre smarter than everyone else. Theyre too good to adapt to what actually works in today's game and actually listen or get ideas from someone else. What they dont know is every coaching staff they go against is laughing at them and thats the truth.

Here's a list of the problems regarding the football program.
1. KF isn't hungry anymore and coasting on past success To suggest a coach isn't hungry anymore is a non starter. The guy wants to win and is doing his best, but hisbest is not good enough anymore. He doesn't know how to win at Iowa in the year 2012.
2. Our offense is stuck in the 90's, is easy to gameplan for, and when there was an opportunity to change we ended up with a KOK clone that was run out of Texas once he didn't have a heisman caliber qb to bail him out. 31 Points should be enough to win any game. Furthermore, the problem wasn't the 1990's offense, it was that we got away from the 1970's offense at key points. They couldn't stop Weisman for three straight plays, and when they stopped him once, we instead went to fancy deep ball passes.
3. The B1Gs recruiting base is picked over and we don't play games in the south so our team speed is lacking This is true. Good point here.
4. We're losing ground in our own state, which we currently own, but after losing to ISU two years in a row is going to hurt us down the road. If we can't out recruit Ames Iowa, their facilities, and their tradition, than we are in deep deep ****.
5. Even if KF runs this program into the ground it will be years before a change is made. This is not exactly true. First thing is that you assume that KF will allow himself to get fired, rather than retire with grace as Hayden Fry did. Secondly, his contract goes through 2020 and coaches need 4-5 years at all times to ensure recruits they are going to be there. 2015 is your line of demarkation.
6. Lack of talent. Our Oline looks overrated, our qb is erratic and easily rattled, our defense looks slow and undersize Been a problem for a long time, and Iowa fans allow it to happen with their eagerness to crown folk heroes every season.
7. Our fans will jump off the bandwagon like our basketball program if this year falls apart like it's shaping out, and next year is more of the same.

He doesn't care he has all the money he needs...he can go 0-12 for awhile and it won't matter...barta doesn't have the balls to fire him after the dumb contract he game him.

Then maybe it's Barta that needs to go. And please spare me the "were you against it in 2010" crap.
