Our kicking game?

Seemed off this weekend. Was the wind more of a factor than I thought
or is there more to the story??

Somebody had mentioned that they thought Meyer could have been instructed to get a little more air under the ball so the defenders could get down into coverage. Not sure if true but it could explain it.

See, we're in this weird position where we're neither kicking the ball deep into the endzone, or doing it like last year, where we kicked the ball only out to the 5-10yd line and allowed a return of maybe 10 yards or so.

Lately, I think the ball flies down the field, to the goal line, which allows for a return. Our coverage team is still not down and close to the return man, which is still allowing returns out to past the 20, often out to the 30.

We should be working on improving our return game, because I think special teams play could hurt us, rather than save us, as it has in the past couple years.

Meyers kicked the ball into a stiff breeze twice and got it down inside the 10 both times.

With the wind he kicked it into the end zone once.

He did just fine.
