Do you suppose Dabo got a phone call from Kirk this morning???
What's he gonna say, "stop telling the truth about my son's offense?"
A lot of us made this point last year. By keeping BF on his staff and not nudging him another direction, KF has made his son an even bigger national punchline. The contract stipulations KF clearly must have allowed are also not helping. Success and wins are the only thing that will deoderize BF. Shaky start.
Shaky start.
That has to be AI, right?
Yea, I suppose you're correct.Given the source of the tweet you can assume that it was dubbed. Dabo wouln't say that .. no coach would say that.
Did he lose some recruiting battles to us? Really, Really odd for a Coach to say this. Dating myself but is Brian the new "Cliff Claven" that even Cliff doesn't want to be. I think Kirk is alright with media and fans making fun of his son, but now his fellow coaches? I'm going to check Wiki and look up dysfunctional offense and see what pops up.Boy, I can't believe another coach would go there. As comical as it kind of is, that is so unprofessional on so many levels.
That shocked me to be honest.
That's not the point of the topic. This ball club is 1-0. There are a lot of teams out there, Clemson included, who wish they were 1-0 right now. I don't care if we only scored 2 or 3 points a game as long as we win. Brian delivered a decisive win and we currently have a better record than Nebraska. After this coming Saturday we will have a better record than ISU and Nebraska. That's all that matters, bud.

I think the bigger miscalculation was naming him OC - a corner Kirk should have known would be impossible to back out of. Especially when you consider how his last two OCs were perceived. That's the lapse in judgement that was so out of character for Kirk and hard for me to understand. He had to have known there was a pretty good chance at least a KOK or Greg Davis situation would unfold. And possibly worse. You're spot on about this.
Not gonna lie. I like Kirk. Hard for me to find a way to not appreciate him.
And this team will overcome Brian (some day).
And I can forgive him for his when it is in the past. Assuming we get to the past very soon and assuming this offense will continue as I'm starting to expect it. Could be, as you say, just a shaky start. I do have some hope.
But can they as a family? Move on?
I mean, this will be Kirk's greatest ever miscalculation in his career. Not nudging him, as you phrase it. One that we will joke about when it's in the past. But it will be in our past. But it will be forever present in their family. Could be quite sad, in a way.

In the meantime, chew on this for a minute. There’s a statement going around the x-verse that our opening drive, that resulted in a touchdown, was the first time that’s happened since….1991. If true, that’s 42 straight seasons. Just stop and think about that for a minute. Really let that sink in. Then read it again and form a response in your mind. And let us know how you actually feel about that. Because it speaks volumes upon volumes.
You could absolutely be correct. I know for a fact iowa’s first score in games has occurred from a pass in numerous games. The question is how long has it been since we’ve done it on the very first drive of the game. I’m sure there’s a way to research but I’m not taking that time out of my life to do that so for now, I just deleted that part of my response. It may be accurate, and if so, wow x a million, but not worth it to meI heard that and I cannot believe that. Just floored me. I think it was a pass for a TD on the first drive. I still have a hard time believing that.
That 2002 team with Banks was known for scoring on the first drives of games. You can't tell me that they never had a TD pass on the first drive? How does a team now fall into a TD pass on the first drive over all those years.
