I think the difference is that "pro-style" doesn't mean "West coast" offense. Heck, we would technically be considered a pro style offense and we resemble nothing close to what Callahan trotted out there.

I don't believe the position Iowa currently finds itself in affords it the luxury of rooting for teams it has to directly recruit against.

Excellent point, one I hadn't thought of before.
But I'm not sure one game necessarily sways a recruit to one school or another...or does it?

Well, the teams Iowa recruits against typically aren't good enough to play in a bowl game, so it doesn't matter who we root for. Some of the guys we recruit are lucky to have another offer at all.
