Why was the South Carolina Football Coach Shane Beamer blowing a gasket in the 21-17 loss to
Bret Bielema's Illinois team

MFer came unglued throwing a temper tantrum on the field after Bielema reacted to a vicious hit required an Illinois player to be removed from the game

The announcers seemed to be a bit pissed at Bret after he signaled for a substitution leading
Beamer to come react rather strongly

He's been double and triple subbing in, making SC burn timeouts. The announcing crew and ref on call all said it shouldn't be allowed. Then when he had injured player, he went straight to the SC bench showing the substitution sign indicating he knew he was cheating and taunting Beamer with it. He just has 0 class in anything!!

I was rooting for the B1G team up to that point.
Didn't really watch most of the game, but sounds like SC was subbing-in late in the play clock for a lot of those, so the D gets a chance to also sub. I get that ILL was a little slow to sub in at times, but I put that on the offense. Dont sub late in the clock or this may happen.

Also, the signal Bret was giving was that of a receiving team indicating they would not be returning the kickoff to allow for less injury. SC gave that signal, paused and then ran a trick play on the return and an ILL player was injured on the play. He was signaling that to the SC bench indicating it was a bush league play to get ILL to let up.

Legal play by SC, but bush league. For what it's worth.

Worm may have turned a bit. O scores just before half; Then gets second half kickoff and does it again. And, OSU 3 and out. 34-15 now. But now, O second position, two sacks by the Bucks. 3 and out O. Hmm.
I was thinking the same thing, but then OSU kicked them in the balls with that next tough down and at that point the game was out of reach.

Bielema lived in Beamer's head all night.
In reality, Beamer seems to have started the nonsense with his attempt to game the 'no runback' signal - and then run it back.. Dirtbag move.
Bielema just responded in kind with a dirtbag move.
And then kicked their ass!

After that incident, Bert just laughed.
Then he went with a 9-man offensive line and ran it right down their throat.

IMO the targeting situation is getting absolutely stupid. I understand player safety, but they're reviewing them way too often and when they do the ones that seem blatantly obvious aren't called. I don't get it and think it's gotten to the point where it's just ridiculous.

I have always liked Bert's attitude other than when he plays the Hawks

He has an OK, if you wanna F... with me, Watch this, Jack attitude

He is gonna get another Gold Star on my BertBoard

I agree. I am starting to think that the officials are reluctant to call it because the player is automatically ejected. I think they should have it like the NFL where you can commit targeting but not necessarily be ejected from the game.

Thanks. First really clear analysis of the incidents.

They need to get rid of all the reviewers and go to a different gene pool for replacements. Or, simply have the officials over ride a review.

Yeah, I have to admit I like how he competes. He was living rent free in Beamer's head and knew it. He stayed focused and shoved the ball down SC's throat.

I was absolutely mystified by the review. It seems to me (a guy who should be arrested for watching too much football) that this would've been called targeting in most cases. It's just inconsistent as hell, and it may have made a real difference in the game.

Just curious if anyone is less excited than I am for the pedo coaches vs pedo priests bowl.
To be totally honest, I'm about as far as you can get to being a conference homer and would love nothing more then to see every fellow Big Ten Team get beat when playing someone other then us. That said I'm enjoying watching the SEC bow out one by one and all the conference homers running to one of their newest additions and jumping on the Texas bandwagon trying to remain afloat in the playoffs. Couldn't happen to a more deserving conference and conference fanbase.

Yup. And Tx is only just a Big 12 minute away from being an SC team.
