OT: Patriots out; who wins Super Bowl??

Gotta get Derrick Henry on the loose. Tackling him is like tackling a runaway freight train.

He has done it against the best defenses. I would guess they will focus on stopping him and make Tannehill try to beat them. I know people are making issues out of Tannehill in the playoffs, but if he has to throw he can do it. Had a 70% completion % in regular season. Will they fall flat? Who knows but they have been rolling against the best on the road. Incredible run.

Amani Hooker with the big hit before the half to stop the Ravens WR from scoring and they had to settle for a FG.

Remember the Mariota TD pass to himself in Arrowhead?????

I think the best game would be the Chiefs and the 49ers. That would be a good game!
I took a teaser on the chiefs, Packers and 9ers 10 point swing (50 to win 40) so I am pretty happy it worked out. Those games plus the NDSU game made for a pretty nice weekend.

Why would I care about that????????????????? Fantastic management and coaching decision.
It turned out that way but man it was a coin flip at the time if he'd do even as good as Mariota ever had. Sometimes coaches just stumble upon good luck and Vrabel sure did there. Kudos to him for making that call and Tannehill for improving and doing as well as he did. Dude made him self some serious $ going forward.

And instead of doing the RB by committee thing they hitched their wagon to Henry and used him as the bell cow back he is. For a few yrs prior to Vrabel that's what they'd been doing and obviously not getting the best out of it. You have a guy like Henry you ride him into the ground.

We need to thank the stars Tannehill was a late bloomer. If he would have taken off at Miami, O'Keefe would probably be head man a Cleveland right now staring down a title game berth against the Chiefs.

Haha getting ahead of ourselves a little with the dominos there but it is funny how just one domino can affect so much

Think of the coaches who have gotten promotions just by working for a great team. You don't see too many o-coordinators from 6-10 teams who have a shitty QB getting promoted to HC, but you have a slew of Patriots coordinators who have gotten a variety of HC jobs and they all pretty much sucked.

That's part of why my disdain for Ferentz has died down over the years. The guy can put together some nice teams with some serious talent gaps. Not a lot of coaches can do that.

Same here. KF has done something that was pretty darn tough to do. Getting Iowa back up and then keeping us there for the most part. The more time that's gone on and you see all the craziness that's gone on around college football especially should have us feeling pretty darn appreciative of what we've had. No doubt

You look at the guys from the NFL and NCAA who have been coordinators at flashy programs and so many of them just totally suck on their own. It's easy to look like a genius when you are OC for Oklahoma or Alabama or whatever and you have 5 stars across the board. Much harder when you have equal or lesser talent. One good example is Scott Frost. Maybe he'll pan, but it doesn't look like he's going to reach the sustained heights they had with Bo Pelini, who is actually a good coach (albeit a little rough around the edges).

I think I first realized the scam back when Norv Turner and Dave Wannstedt got HC jobs after "successful" stints with the Dallas Cowboys. They somehow managed to demonstrate time after time that they suck, yet they continue to get hired!

I think his first contract was pretty good also. Drafted 8th overall.

The offensive line has been a big part of that now. If you go back and look they had injuries, suspensions, etc. Part of what happened to Mariota was shell shock I think from running for his life.

The QBs are so much better now than they used to be. I think there are a fair number of guys who could be productive in the NFL with a good line and good skill guys around them, whereas in the past there were only like 10 guys who were good. You're seeing it down in the college game. These kids coming out of Texas and the Southern high schools that do those camps and stuff just blow away the talent that was out there like 10 years ago.

Me too!!! I also mix up the current Titans with the current Texans. Both names starting with a T does not help.

Some other funny things:

The Kansas Ciry Chiefs started out as the Dallas Texans in the old AFL.

The New York Jets started out as the New York Titans in the old AFL.

The current Indianapolis Colts have a complicated NFL franchise history. They essentially took over for another franchise that once was referred to as the Dallas Texans. Although some debate that the Texans franchise folded and the Baltimore Colts franchise that replaced that Texans franchise was an expansion team. But the Colts kept the Texans uniform colors and its players. So I think it counts as the same team

Then there was a 4th Dallas Texans franchise and another Baltimore Colts franchise from the 1940's that both folded.
Then there is the Sacremento Kings, who were once the Kansas City Kings, and the KC-Omaha Kings, I mean the Cincinnati Royals, err, the Rochester TriHawks, umm....just give me a drink already.
