OT- Minnetonka HS basketball coach suspended

This was an interesting comment:

"A 7-5 record and a bunch of star players suspended for drinking / drugs will do that to you... Welcome to the reality of MN high school sports."

Tucker apparently didn't pick up his habits at Iowa.

looks like coach lost a pipeline in Minnesota.

How many kids at Minnetonka are having issues? Tucker has had long term issues? That seems enough to seriously think about whether that is what you want on your team ( remember, PP had long standing issues at Westmont, that was ignored and look at that turned out ), how it affects other players, the program, the fanbase. It not what IOWA ( nor Lickliter ) needs.

I don't think you can blame Tucker's issues on Minnetonka. He was 'recruited' to play basketball there but is not a product of their system. Minnetonka is a great town with outstanding youth sports programs, particularly in basketball & football.

I consider the 'system' to span back to early grade school. Minnetonka has an outstanding school system and an outstanding youth basketball program. I was responding to the original suggestion that Minnetonka kids are trouble. The vast majority are awesome, Tucker is trouble and I do not expect to see that change.

Tucker was recruited so that Tonka could complete with the elite MN teams, which they did. He is not all representative of the quality of young people that graduate from that school(which I did not).

Well, if he needs some support he could always call a former player up and sit down and vent over a couple of beers....

I think I'm going to hell.

+1 I lived in MN for 7 years and one thing you heard about Minnetonka was more about the beautiful homes (mostly on the lake) and the good schools it had. Never was it considered an area that had to deal with "inner city" issues. If you want to talk about issues... let's talk about areas around Bryant Avenue (Minneapolis) and such... pretty scary area... for MN that is.
