First time since the Fab Five.
It wasn't that long ago that they were an after thought in college basketball, kind of like us.
Just sayin' we're going to be number 1 in a couple of years.
Only 3 more games left against ranked teams the rest of the year. Pretty easy schedule as it stands now, maybe too easy.
By a wide margin, Iowa has the #1 conf SOS so far this year in the nation. The nation.
They came out of it 2-5. Not great, but not 0-7 at least. And, to top it off, they competed in all but 1 of those losses (which happened to be on the road to the now #1 team in the country).
There is still hope for this team, they just need to get the coffee.
Perhaps but at the end of the year Iowa is going to have the WEAKEST conference schedule of all the BIG teams. They might have one of the weakest Noncon schedules of any high major DI team. All that adds up to the fact that you probably need to go 10-8 in conference and win at least 1 game in the BTT to get into the dance.
Vatech might end up being a bad loss. You have no signature wins. You want to say the win against Wisconsin is a signature win? Ok, then you can't speak out of the other side of your mouth and say Wisconsin isn't any good. Currently Wisconsin is your only win over a sure NCAA tournament team. ISU might fit that bill as well but neither are "signature" wins.
