OT - ISU prediction

Of course they are. They are a bunch of losers. Pot meet kettle. Guarantee if the shoe was on the other foot, they would be defending their guy for giving the cabbie what he deserved after throwing a racial slur at him.

Besides, we would beat them WITHOUT AC. They have not scored a touchdown on us in four years, and AC has not been a part of the defense that whole time.

It's ok little brother. It's ok......

You guys act like it is just Clone fans who rip on their rival. Go onto other message boards. Their all like that

Little brother? Man, it must suck to have little brother beat your arse in front of your only sellout of the year, huh?

And is it OK to "rip on you" for spelling they're incorrectly? ;)

I am willing to concede that ISU has an extremely tough schedule. What I cannot imagine is where anyone thinks these guys are going to get six or more wins! And 8 wins is just plain smokin crack! I think if they get 4 wins this season they should consider themselves lucky. 2-3 wins is more realistic. They are just not that good. It'll be a pleasure to hear the clowns resume their annual rendition of I'll be home for Christmas.

They might seriously win 1 game. Max 3. They will also take it right in the you know what in Iowa City this year....A real Hayden Fry style picnic beatdown, 56-6 or something like that. However, PR, will still be "SO PROUD" to be their coach. That is until the have 3 more seasons just like the one coming and then he will be "SO PROUD" to be a LB's coach at S. Miss.

When did we get so arrogant... Northern Ill might be as tough as UNI was for us last year. I think we all can agree ISU's schedule is tough as any this year, anyone who thinks different is honestly, just being a jerk.

no doubt. didn't we just play northern illinois a couple years back?? And then there is that whole western michigan thing.....

They definitely have a difficult schedule but the Big 12 will not be as strong as last year IMO. Texas typically reloads as does OU, but they are each losing one of their better qb's in the history of their programs. Not to mention both losing several key players elsewhere. Nebraska should be pretty good, but outside of that, I'm just not that impressed with the conference next year.

ISU usually bombs on the road and their most difficult games are on the road this year. If they get to 6-6 they should be very happy. I will be surprised if they do any better than .500.

No way. We will win, but it will not be 56-6. Kirk has never, and will never let a game get that bad.

The only game that comes to mind is the 2002 NW game where we beat them 62-10. I actually wish we would do that to those punks again this year! Hate those guys!

Hahahaha every year? What? You have won twice in Ames in the last 6 tries. Hahahahaha.

Typical fan who things higher of their program than he probably should. Hawkeye fans ripping on the Clones for the Northern Illinois game when they lost to Western Michigan 3 years ago and should/could have lost to UNI last year.

Difference between me and you is that I give the Hawks respect. They had a great season and look to have a great season again. I am predicting 10-2 with another bowl win to go 11-2.

I agree. If you are an Iowa fan who does "root for ISU when they aren't playing Iowa" just go over to cyclonefanatic.com and read the threads in the "In State Rivals" forum, and you should change your mind pretty quickly.

You guys do realize that only the minority of fans even post stuff on message boards and normally the most vocal are also not the smartest group. Most ISU fans i know root for Iowa every game but the ones they play ISU. I have no problem cheering on ISU when they are not playing Iowa even if they have a few bad apples as fans.....because Iowa and any other team has fans the same way.

I used to root for ISU to do well in both basketball and football growing up. Then I became an adult and started looking at message boards, and hearing from ISU fans. I now root for them to lose EVERY game they ever play. Their hatred for Iowa and the garbage they spew is enough for me.

You could literally completely swap "ISU" for "Iowa" in there, and you would have my life story up till last year.

During last season though, some of my die-hard Hawk friends were strongly in ISU's corner throughout the season, and it just made it harder to root against the Hawks, so I quit rooting against the Hawks. What's the point of being happy at another's misery? Although, I have a feeling if I spend enough time reading this board, I'll revert to how I was feeling.

Oh, and OP, thanks for your optimism, but there's NWIH we win 8 games this year, without upsetting either you guys or Nebraska. We're going to lose a winnable game this season.

I guess you must have missed the 55-0 beat down of the Gophers in the last game at the Metrodome, or the 45-9 win over Indiana that same year.

I think ISU has a very good coach and has some nice talent returning on offense, but they don't have a very solid defense returning and they do have a very tough schedule for 2010.

I would predict losses to Iowa, Texas, Oklahoma, Utah and Kansas State, which would give them a shot at a 7-5 season, which would get them to a decent bowl game.

K-State is a very winnable game.

I would be more apt to predict losses to Nebraska, Texas Tech, and Missouri, than K-State. Maybe Utah as well. I'm not sure why, but I think we'll pull that one out.

6-6, and a very battle hardened 6-6.

Your stat is correct, but why did you go back 6 games to count 2 wins? You only have to go back 4...

Iowa wins: 2003, 2009
ISU wins: 2005, 2007

Well because 6 makes my argument that much stronger! : )

Duh!

We can go back 2, 4, 6, 10. Doesn't change. The yahoo said that the Hawks kick us every time on our field and well....that's not even a little true

We aint makin a bowl game this year with this schedule. Tons of new faces, very weak Defensive line (which i think is the most important position). Backing up that Defensive line will be 2 redshirt freshmen linebackers, (which is scary). Very good Secondary, but come on, the secondary cant hold its own for too long without a pass rush. Should be a good offensive team just to many questions on the defensive side of the ball, way to many.
