Hawks will play Northwestern who defeated Maryland 6-5 this morning. i am confused as Mediacom guide says game is on BTN at 1;00 our time but Big Ten Network schedule says 1:00 ET on BTN2Go. Hawks are home team, wearing gold unis.

I am going to turn to BTN at noon and see if the game is on. GO HAWKS!!!!

FYI -the last outright championship that i can find for Iowa is men's track in the 2010-2011 season. Couple cochampionships in wrestling after that.

The B1G just isn't the big leagues of college baseball. Kids want to practice outside in warm weather and the southern schools just dominate the sport. Look up the last time a B1G team won the College World Series. Its sad.

The only way the Hawks are getting to Omaha is to win three straight series where they will be underdogs, not a good shot.

Nebraska won the regular season baseball title (whom Iowa owned in the regular season and defeated in the tournament) So Iowa is the tournament champ and really out right champ since we abused the Huskers all year long.

What do they have to do to make the college world series?

Iowa now plays in a double-elimination four-team regional (Houston, Baylor, Texas A&M, Iowa).

Survive that, and the Hawks move on to a Super Regional against the winner of the Chapel Hill Regional (North Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, Michigan, Davidson). The two teams play a Best-of-Three series.

Win that Super Regional and you advance to Omaha and the College World Series.

Iowa heads to Houston, TX as the #4 seed and will face #1 seed Houston this Friday night 8pm. Texas A&M and Baylor are the other two seeds in that region.
