OT--Grinnell player puts up 89 pts

Grinnell's Griffin Lentsch scored 89 points in the Pioneers 145-97 win over Principia today. The 89 points is an NCAA Division III men's record.

breaking the mark set by another Grinnell player, Jeff Clement, who scored 77 on Feb. 18, 1998.

I kind of figured this was what I would find out. It is a lot of points, but this is certainly the system to do it in. Did we ever score this many points as a team in the Lick era?

WOW i've been to a game to watch Grinnell play a couple years ago. The score to that game was like 140 to 120 something. Its a wild style of play for sure. They had like 4 guys that pretty much had a green light to shoot 3s as soon as they crossed half court. If someone were to get hot in that style I could see that. Him shooting 22 free throws and playing that many mins suprises me more then anything. Cause they sub like hockey lines. That'd have been fun to watch. Outta be a fun yr in Grinnell

It's not my preferred style, but at their level, they recruit some good shooters. Good publicity for Grinnell College.
