OT: Deshawn Sims rejects invite to Portsmouth

It doesn't really make sense for him to go to Portsmouth. If you go to this camp you are basically confirming that you will be undrafted or a late 2nd round pick. Players are even starting to reject offers to play at the NBA combine.

Q: I haven't watched the NBA for more than 13 years. Just curious, what happens to their status if they don't go to the combine? If they aren't a sure number 1 selection, how do NBA teams know about their individual stats? Or are players just hoping/assuming/gambling they are going in the first round?
I would think that is a big gamble, especially if you are quitting school to play in the NBA.

Portsmouth is only for seniors who have used their eligibilty.
There are other camps,like Moody Bible Camp in Chicago and the top guys have a lot of individual workouts for teams.
Portsmouth is really a chance for lower rated players to shine, but for Sims it is a close call,I would guess.
