OT: A lot of upsets so far in college basketball

Yes upsets happen a lot in college basketball, but not normally this many this soon... take last night for example.

Coastal Carolina beat LSU.
Elon beat South Carolina.
Pepperdine beat Arizona State.
Weber State beat Utah State.
Middle Tennessee beat UCLA (not surprising).
La Salle took Villanova into OT.

And Belmont, a team on Iowa's schedule in the near future, darn near beat Duke last week...watched the last few minutes and Belmont was right there.

Why the heck were LSU and SC playing AT Coastal Carolina and AT Elon?

Coastal Carolina is a very good team and will probably be in the tournament at again. ASU is playing without their number one player in a freshman guard that was ranked as the 5th best PG in the country last year. He had some HS transfer issues that the NCAA is looking into and hasn't been cleared academically yet.

Yet,I have not seen many top 25 teams upset. And really, this time of year,is there significant upsets? Its college bb,where the regular season is just a dress rehearsal for March, which is all that really matters. Thank god that college football has avoided the energy-depleting playoff....I like regular seasons that really matter.

But, I give you this,November has become the second funnest month of the college season, with all these high profile matchups. KY vs KU,OSU vs Florida,Duke vs MSU...its like a November version of the Elite Eight games. Can't wait til Iowa gets into the fray.

Another top 25 team loses to an unranked, non BCS school as Presbyterian beat Cincinnati.
