OSU vs ND

Wow. Good game. OSU is a really good FB team. ND goes for early TD with running QB, which turns out to be a short term success. ND O & QB worn out. OSU runs QB when necessary. Smart. Their passing game is deadly.

Old ND ball coach is right. “It is not about TD’s. It is about 1st downs. “

Lou Holz. Yup.

The game was over at halftime

Now it is a bloody slaughter

Buckeyes scored in the first + minutes of the second half kickoff

The OSU touchdown at the end of the first half are shameful

Buckeye was Wide Open in the End Zone, looked like no defender was within 4/5 feet of the
receiver

This in a National Championship Game

Bloody Disgrace

Jesus is Weeping Tears of Blood

I'd like to see college football look out for the fans a little more moving forward. I know, probably a pipe dream. I think that starts with prioritizing traditional/regional rivalries.

And I'd like to see the playoffs mirror FCS more or less. Start rolling with them soon after Thanksgiving.

Almost all playoff games on campus (that's the coolest part when watching on TV, and also astronomically better for fans of those teams).

Maybe you have the Final Four (so two games) on New Years, followed by the championship game a week later. Although I wouldn't be against trying to figure out a way to play the title game on New Years.

And then play the championship game every year at the Rose Bowl. I know I am biased growing up as a fan of the Big Ten, but it's the best tradition left in college football. Embrace it. There is no reason to continue calling it the Cotton Bowl, Orange Bowl, etc. once those venues changed.

Play the title game every year at basically the same place and time (late afternoon kick in the Rose Bowl). And have it either on New Years or one of the first Saturdays after.

In my opinion, college football's post season lost a lot of its appeal once they moved title games indoors on Monday nights.

OSU has a highly paid group of skill players. But, from what I understand, they put most of their money into paying guys who could go the NFL to stay back a year. Imagine if we could drop a million to have Johnson take another year? That is not far off from what he will make in the NFL depending upon where he is drafted.

OSU can do things financially more than almost all programs, but Notre Dame spends well in NIL as well. Most of the SEC top enders can keep up. Basically, the system now is that you can buy your way into the playoffs, but you still gotta win two games against similarly ilked programs. Whatever, a Nattie is a Nattie. Don't care how you get there. Ask those Cheaters from Ann Arbor if they care what we say about how they got that trophy we wish we had.

To do that you'd either have to get rid of non-cons which no team will do, or you'd have to reduce the number of conference games. That would go against looking out for fans and regional rivals like you mentioned before.

I've been saying that for years. There's no reason an SEC team should never have to deal with weather. Texas/Alabama/Texas/Tennessee/etc. should have to play at Penn State or Michigan or wherever in January if one of those teams has a better seed.

The Rose Bowl is a shithole with terrible views, in a terrible area. There's no way that would happen and it shouldn't. There's also a reason all modern stadiums are built vertically instead of horizontally like they were in the 20s. If you're in the top of the bleachers at the Rose Bowl you're 300 feet laterally from the playing field and not very high. North endzone of Kinnick you're less than half of that and you can see everything because you're higher up.

The college season is getting ridiculously long. Some teams reported for fall practice around Aug. 1, and we're now close to Feb. 1 -- 6 months.
This season the major conferences added an additional bye week, so now P4 teams sit on their asses for 2 weeks during the season, and the expanded playoff extends the season into late January. Did anyone hear the rationale for adding the additional bye this season? I don't remember hearing any reason being given. I don't even understand the rationale for a single bye week, other than to give the players rest and recuperation time. With the expanded playoff system, they should eliminate both bye weeks -- and you could get the championship game done in early January.
SEC teams start their spring practices in 6 weeks!
