OSU -17 over Iowa next weekend

If your response is serious you are quite delusional. You do realize THE OSU also has an extra week to prepare? They were off this week as well.

Was going to point this out, not to mention, it's Brutus's homecoming. Realized the source and figured, you could have stopped after your first sentence.

Hawknick can't help it, though. His excessive, sugar-coated delusions towards Hawkeye football are probably the result of a diabetic coma, brought about by being covered in a glaze of Kirt's sweet (though, slightly salty) goo.

No I am not diabetic thus I am not in a coma, and if I were I would seek medical attention rather than posting on this forum. How many of you negative ninnies also picked Iowa to lose to Penn State in 2008? Not this guy, I picked Iowa to win by a field goal. Being negative does not always make you right.

Last week I guessed OSU would open @ -17. I also thought I should take Iowa. Considering I nailed the opening spread, I'm giving serious consideration to making this bet. This isn't last years team and Iowa likes to surprise people by keeping it close when they're expected to get blown out.

and i bet you picked Iowa to win a lot of games last year too? you see, you can never claim "I picked the upset" when you always pick Iowa. see the logic there? probably not.

I think this game could get ugly. They are going to make us beat them using the pass and not sure we can get open against their dbacks. OSU 35-16...

The Iowa tight ends will be key in the passing game. The size mismatch will be something that Iowa will need to exploit, as they did the last two times Iowa won over there at the home of the paid athletes and rigged test scores.

That Penn State team wasn't as talented as this OSU team and that Iowa team was loaded with talent compared to the lack of talent on this Iowa team.

I think going heavy package might be the key also. I just wish our other bigger back had more pt. Only way we win is to keep the ball and just plain grind them up. I have little faith jake can hit 25 plus yarders in stride, so we need just enough to give some running room. Run and 15 yarders should do that and let us keep the ball. We will need great execution to put those drives together, so i hope the team eats and sleeps the plays for such a game plan.

There you go being delusional again. Iowa in 2008 and Iowa in 2013 is apple and oranges and I'm being kind.

Hawknick: You can put roses on an old dead pig and it still will stink like an old dead pig! Iowa just is not that good.

Anyone that wants to make some quick cash, lay some down on fOSU to cover. It's money so easy even a caveman could bank it.

There is another factor. This team plays the best on the road as any team since 2009. They are undefeated on the road at mid point in the season for the first time since 2009.

Winning on the road has a lot to do with confidence. The 2009 team had it as did the 02 and 96 teams. Now how are they supposed to go in there with confidence when their own fans won't even give them a chance? This is why they need our support. Their opponent will cheat, lie and do whatever it takes ethical or not. The least we can so is be supportive of them.

Lomax with the extra week will have a better chance of getting healthy enough to play CB. That will make a huge difference. Plus the coaches get an extra week to develop schemes and trick plays that the OSU cheaters will be susceptible to. Third I will use the battle of Trenton as an example. The OSU cheaters are paid athletes much like the Hessians were paid soldiers in the battle they may just come out flat and underestimate their opponent just because they are essentially mercenaries. Or they are there because OSU fixes their grades. Iowa will be pumped for the game. This is like their super bowl. They will be prepared. I say will still be close but Iowa will pull it out just as the Americans did at the Battle of Trenton.

OSU coaches will be spending hours trying to figure out whether or not Iowa will be trying to field punts..
