Orlando Magic sign rookie guard Devyn Marble

Fran isn't a good recruiter but this does say something about his developmental skills, to take a 2* recruit no one wanted and turn him into an NBA player. Can't argue with Fran's developmental talents. Aaron White is in a similar situation.

Rumor has it, the first year will be guaranteed with team options for two more years.

That would be great for him if his first year is guaranteed. That means he is guaranteed around $600,000, which even if his career never materializes gives him a good start to his professional life.

I remember when he was on television his freshman or sophomore year an announcer said he saw him in high school and he couldn't envision him being a point guard on a big 10 conference team. I hope the best for him; he has done pretty good for himself.

Good for Devyn. he deserves it, and I can see him getting better as time goes on and becoming a valuable player off the bench. He is tricky and very difficult to predict what he is going to do with the ball. Over the years he made some game changing shots and would make a shot when desperately needed.....

I have a feeling this is only the beginning of Hawkeyes playing in the NBA. Fran has his eye on the ball.....

Talked to Bobby Hansen during his basketball camp with Mark Gannon one year. Both my sons were taking the course. Kevin was the smallest player there and was fearless. He grabbed a rebound and was surrounded, he held the ball to his chest and started swinging his arms wildly turning around and around. Bobby called a technical on him. At any rate, Bobby said that, at the time, if you were on the team and sat on the bench the entire season for two years, you were guaranteed a generous pension.....

Loved watching Devyn, especially the Michigan game at Carver last season.....

From what I've read over the years I think he worked very hard on his outside shot for a good amount of his time at Iowa. He really needed to develop that element of the game and he stuck with it and developed it. Relying on his talent to create shots wasn't going to cut it at the BIG level as he soon realized.

He will be missed..........glad to see him strike some pay dirt.

Apparently the first year is guaranteed...

Lick wanted him.

Ejim to Rome, Marble to an NBA roster.

Now if Kane just goes to the d league or some 3rd rate Euro league it will be a great NBA offseason.

You forgot Garrett got cut, Babb is a lock to get cut, White didn't even get a summer league invite. Clyburn and McGee didn't even get summer league minutes. Fran is going to have more players on NBA roster on opening day than Mr Rolodex himself.

NBA teams do not have to give 2nd round picks any guaranteed money at all, so the fact his first year has guaranteed money is probably a good sign that Orlando thinks they got a 2nd round steal.

Yeah, great for Marble and good for Fran too.

Likely any chance for the Clones next year is Kane, he's still getting a sniff but has a large contract offer in China and that's where I see him ending up.

Didn't see any of the clones or marble on a roster next year but he definitely proved me wrong.

Damn, I didn't realize Fred's rolodex expanded to China. I see ISU fans are already moving onto talking about Niang making the NBA LOL, not happening.
