Orange Bowl Broadcast

I am re-watching the Orange Bowl so that I can get back in the swing of things to update my Iowa blog and had to vent about the following.

Is there anything remotely good about a college football broadcast on Fox?

I dislike their graphics. I dislike their announcers (Dick Stockton is utterly clueless). I dislike their camera shots.

Count me as one who is excited about the BCS returning to ABC/ESPN.

Go Hawks!

Just go in person, it was much better!!!

Although I agree with you, watching the reply did not give justice to the atmosphere there

Agreed! ESPN will make BCS games major events again and with their wealth of on air personalities and appealing graphics, promotions, etc. it will be a major upgrade from Fox.

I think a big mistake that Fox made was hiring announcers who typically do pro events to do college games - an example of tHom Brennaman doing games for the BTN is a good example of this. Stockton isn't a bad play by play guy; he's very good doing NBA games for TNT and NFL games for Fox, but sucked during the Iowa game and sucked when was in the booth for TBS during the MLB playoffs a few years ago.

But I'll agree with the premise that having the games on ESPN/ABC will be much better for the game, and will make for much better experience for the viewer.

The main reason I want BCS to ESPN is so they will cover it.

Last year I watched Sportscenter for an hour the morning of the Orange Bowl. Not one word about the Orange Bowl, But since the GMAC bowl was going to be on ESPN they DID talk about that.

ESPN sucks.

Don't forget about Chris Myers!

I thought Chris Myers  was kind of rude to the Orange Bowl lady dressed in orange who did the pre-game coin flip. She seemed like a nice person.
Although I have to point out that she did a poor job of execution on the coin flip -- I don't think the coin even rotated one time before hitting the ground.

Watch for it at the beginning of the replay.

You really should have good coin flippers at BCS bowl games.
