One Wrinkle I'd Like to See on Offense

Weisman doesn't break off 30+ yard runs very often - we all know that - but I'm good with his role and how he gives the offense an identity.

Wrinkle: Keep the RB rotation, but when Bullock is out there, motion to an 'Empty' set and get him matched up against a LB? If we're getting 8-9 guys in the box all the time, use it to our advantage and make a LB cover him downfield. We could also run QB draws out of this (as long as Rudock can hold onto the ball).

OR: Why not move Canzeri into Bullock's role? Canzeri simply looks more explosive to me - he just needs more carries to get into the flow - and make Bullock more of a full-time WR? I know Bullock dropped the screen pass against Northern Illinois, but I still think he has good hands, and it can't get any worse then the drops we've seen at WR through the first 3 games.

Weisman was 20th in the country in 30 yard runs last year with 6.

Why isn't the best RB to ever wear an Iowa uniform on the field? Just look at how good he was in his one start.

I would like to see Daniels on the field as soon as they get him up to speed on his blocking. As much as I want to see him I dont want to lose Ruduck in the process. Get him ready

They have run jet sweeps with Powell and Cotton. For whatever reason, they prefer the wide receivers in that role.

Yeah, nobody ever knows when Melvin Gordon the 3rd, aka, "MGIII", is going to get the ball. Otherwise he'd have 20+ yards per carry vs. the pedestrian 10 or 12 he has been averaging weekly.

I like your ideas. I'd like to see Canzeri with mroe of a role as I think he brings the best punch with the total package of size, speed, elusiveness & receiving ability. Make Bullock a Wes Welker possession receiver & try to get him in open field. I'd really hate to see Canzeri think about transferring sec to lack of PT.
