Is it legal that castillo was literally lying in the endzone then pushed the ball away. I'm not sure of the rule but I thought it might be illegal.

When I rewatched the game, they said it is the ball and not the man. I always thought it was the man too but what do I know.

Legal in college, illegal in the NFL. It's all about the ball in college. NFL nothing can cross the goalline.

i think a lot of folks were surprised that the rule differs from college to pro. that's one where i thought they were the same.

You're right that it would have been a touchback in the NFL, but it's not true that nothing can cross the goal line.

In the NFL it's legal to jump in the endzone and knock the ball back in the field of play as long as you aren't touching the ground in the endzone.

I didn't mean the imaginary vertical goalline. I should have said that a different way.

MVP consideration also goes to the NIU RB who managed to get to the 1/2 yard line instead of taking a safety, or the coach for not taking a safety instead of punting and giving up unreal field position. I'd like to think they could have drove the field with the time left if they had to but, my eyes were seeing differently!
