Troy State U was a FCS powerhouse before they moved up to D1. Not so much after.

UNI would be the smallest school by almost half, but competitive in attendance

So competitive is 12th out of 14. I believe there is a minimum attendance they must average. I believe it to be 15k. Many times MAC teams have to do various things to get those numbers up. UNI has made the average 1 time. That was in 2007 when they were number 1 all year in FCS (only to fail in the playoffs). That same year Iowa state was god awful (3-9) and Iowa (6-6) was not good either. It took a perfect storm for them just to get to 15K. Usually they average 12K-13K.
