Wondering why/how 24/7 Sports could have him at 100% Minnesota.
I got a feeling Frosty the Snowman's gonna be a pretty decent recruiter.
You certainly won't catch him telling kids to do "what is best for themselves". He will sell his place 110 percent.I got a feeling Frosty the Snowman's gonna be a pretty decent recruiter.

Ehhh, jury is still out in my book. Kid was from Omaha, you know they are brainwashed over there. Let's see him land a 5 star from somewhere not called Nebraska. Then I will tip my cap.
i've been ringing this bell since frost took the helm. kirk needs to be really careful and innovative and keep our program fresh.
Meh. Nebraska recruits way better than Iowa before Frost got there. Heck Riley was a shitty ass coach, and still almost brought in top 20 classes (#21, #20, #24 the last 3 years). I'd be willing to bet that Frost only recruits similar to that at best. Even if you look at the rankings now Nebraska with Heinrich has 13 commits and is ranked #41. Iowa has 14 commits and is ranked #30.
The bigger question is wether or not Frost is a better coach than Pelini? I mean Pelini won 9 games a year while he was at Nebraska. He won with offense at UCF and at Oregon. We will find out if 1) Frost can assemble a D that is worth a damn. 2) If he can't, is it really possible to win in the B1G with offense only?
When your biggest threats are strong in the trenches is it really wise to leave your defense on the field an ton and let those teams control the ball and lean on your defense all game long? Plus teams in the B1G field tough defenses as well. Heck jNW regularly has a very good front 7, Iowa is always top 30 in D and Wisconsin is a top 5 defense year after year. Then you got crossovers with Michigan and Michigan St. who are always strong defensively as well and OSU and Penn St. are no slouches defensively.
Larry Station and Richard Bass were two solid gets from Omaha in the mid 1980's, during the height of the Tom Osborne era. We had two things going for us, however; both Station and Bass were serious about education (and both have done well post college) and Barry Alvarez was our Omaha recruiter. And he could recruit as well as he could coach.I don’t think Iowa will consistently win recruiting battles in Omaha if there’s a competent coach at Nebraska.
Iowa has done well in Omaha but that’s Husker territory. They normally get what they want there. Riley screwed up the Fant recruitment. That was on him. The majority of recruits Iowa has gotten out of Nebraska didn’t have Husker offers. Seth Olsen is one that comes to mind that did.
Initially, I thought Henrich was the type Iowa could land. His father played tennis here. He grew up a Hawkeye fan. Iowa offered early and Frost had a lot of ground to make up. Didn’t happen. I wouldn’t expect Iowa to get many Nebraska recruits Frost wants going forward.
i don't necessarily disagree, but this is a recruiting battle lost in an area where we have fairly consistently beaten kNU and landed our target. this is a change from that trend. the danger is whether Frost makes it consistent by locking down Omaha or whether kirk finds a way to bounce back. this isn't an X and O issue. regardless of whether kNU has always out recruits Iowa but doesn't translate it on the field, this is a head to head loss in a location where Iowa has been a top presence.
When Hayden shut down our border and prevented Osborne from getting OUR best players (no more Roger Craig, Scott Raridon, etc.,) that was one of the cornerstones of Fry turning around the program at Iowa.Don't get me wrong, I think it suckes we missed out on Heinrich, but I don't think Iowa has ever really pulled a ton a kids away from kNU out of Nebraska. I can think of Fant, and Ott. I'm sure I'm missing some, but it isn't like we are getting Omaha's finest year in and year out.
