Omaha in Summit League Championship

2nd leading scorer in the country, he is a ridiculously talented big white dude who I had never heard of

Aw well, this game wasn't going to change anything anyway. Iowa would have needed 2 wins in the BTT with or without Omaha winning. But it would have been neat if they won.

Daum is Nebraska too - I really liked Omaha's PG Tyus and also their SG Hollins a lot - if any of those 3 kids went to Nebraska they might actually have been a force and save Tim Miles's job.

What Omaha did never was going to have much effect. I disagree that Iowa needs two wins though. I think one win will do it.

I admit I'll still be watching on Selection Sunday if Iowa only wins 1 but it will be very tough for them to get in with a 19-14 record and an RPI of 68.

Those two items on their face would make you think Iowa won't get in, but the committee values other things including quality wins. We have 4 wins against teams currently ranked (they were ranked when we played them too), including two on the road.

I think if we beat IU our destination will likely be Dayton for a first four game. My bigger concern is beating IU. I don't like the matchup.

It really depends on what teams like Providence, Marquette, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Xavier, Wake Forest, USC, Ga Tech (who already lost and are likely out)CAL, KState and IL do this week - those teams all sit in the same position as Iowa for the most part. Needing to win to get in. If all of em tank or a large percentage of them do - 1 win is gonna Iowa in.

Reed Tellinghuisen starts for South Dakota State. He's an Iowa kid and Iowa was tracking him for awhile but never offered. He would have accepted on the spot.

Reed is from the town where I grew up and I know his dad really well so I'm glad they won. I don't think the result of this game really impacts us....just my opinion. I think it's great that Reed gets to play in the NCAA Tournament.

I just noticed that South Dakota State is in the same preseason tournament as Iowa next year in the Cayman Islands. So we might get to play them.
