Olympic Club - unforgiving.

Most of the world's best golfers are being taken to the woodshed by this course. The US Open is so fun to watch because of the risk-reward, do you hit long iron and 5 wood off the tee or go with the driver? There are so many more recovery shots attempted and so many brilliant recovery shots make on a tough open course.

The first 6 holes the field is +616 over par not quite thru 2 full rounds, wowowow.

Unless tiger goes real low this will be a matter of who is left standing by the back nine on Sunday. I think someone will come out of the pack on the last 2 days to play steady golf and win. It might be a David Toms or Furyk kind of course, hit steady straight shots and make your putts.

and just like that...Tiger and Furyk are tied for the lead. Gotta admit...this is fun to watch.

This is the best thing to watch in a long time. Tiger's about to take the lead by himself.

Yesterday the top 3 in the world, Mcilroy, Westwood, and what's his name were 17 over par, wow.

Ate them up ,

Luke Donald, how quickly I forget.

I think Rory has way too much Caroline Wozniacki on his mind as of late but looking at her I can see why she could really distract you from your golf game.

That he did. If tiger can control his high fade he will be tough to beat as he can usually putt and chip well on these fast greens.

Which tees did you play, the shortest??

Blue (6,589 yds).
It's a TOUGH course. The low score in our group was 91, and that was from the best player, a guy who takes it really seriously.
I posted the worst score, of course. I'm turrrble. :(

As long as you had fun, I played well last week and very poorly around the greens this week. Fun game and it will bite you.

I hadn't picked up a golf club in over a year until I stepped onto the range before Wednesday's round. The round was with a big customer of mine, so it was designed to be fun (we went through more than a case of miller lite during the 18) and it really was. Lotsa laffs. :)

I was just kidding about playing the shortest tees because a shorter yardage can be made very difficult.

The fact that Olympic Club has no out of bounds, water and only one fairway bunker is made up for with the sloping fairways, rough, and fast, bending greens.

I would love to see Toms win it.

+19..

Rory Shot 77 (+7) and Donald 79 (+9) between the 2 of them yesterday they shot +16.

Westwood finished with a 73 (+3) and after the first hole was +2. Lee played well yesterday.

If the winds come up over the weekend it will be brutal. Was it about 20 years ago that Gil Morgan was almost 10 under at Pebble in the Open on Friday then the wind came up and swallowed him and most others up.

I think tom kite with his great short wedge game hung on to win that one.

Tiger is one of the players who can play under the wind as are a few other players.

Most players today can not play under the wind.

The Euros are used to the wind so one of them could play well if wind comes up.

Phil hits 3 wood off the tee and still gets the high rough. HIs lack of accuracy in the open is his curse.

Plus his van de velde brain fart at the open about 6 years ago when oglivie won it after PHil doubled the last hole.

Beau Hossler, 17 year old leading the US Open. Amazing accomplishment no matter what happens.

I hate chris berman with a very high degree of intensity. He is ruining this telecast.
