Olaseni Wants To "Blow Up" This Year

Have you seen that big guy on Nebraska? He's slower than an iceberg.

Which makes it incredible that he plays at the D1 level, but if he were an unathetic bump like myself he wouldn't have been at the D1 level. There are taller and bigger guys at lower levels that have solid fundamentals, but very limited athletically. That big guy may be slow, but he actually has nice footwork and coordination to go along with a little bit of athleticism or he wouldn't be there.

Just because all those guys fizzle out doesn't mean they didn't have more potential to begin with. Allot of them absolutely did.

It two separate ideas, you are arguing the end result, its a different concept entirely.

I am not arguing the end result, I have already pointed out who has had the bigger impact on Iowa basketball in their career to date and it isn't really debatable.

What floors me is people thinking Gabe should start or be on the floor more than Woodbury because he has the athleticism and potential, everyone's favorite buzz words today. Those two factors tell me absolutely nothing about what type of player Gabe is and there is little respect for Adam Woodbury still.

Oh well, Woodbury will just go on getting better and so will Gabe, when all is said and done it won't be tough to figure out who had the biggest impact on Iowa basketball since Horner/Brunner.

No one but bball man is saying Gabe should be on the floor more or start.

You are trying to argue that something is not probable, when the argument is whether it is possible. It is definitely possible that Gabe could become better than Adam if he develops the instincts and skill to play the game. Because he has elite athleticism.

That would likely not happen untill well after they have graduated if they continue to play. Gabe could still be making huge mental strides into his mid to late 20s where as Adam does not have nearly as many areas to make possible improvements in and has one big limiting factor, his lack of jumping ability.

I shouldn't have to go this indepth to explain the theoretical concept of potential or that the best basketball usually also happen to be great athletes and that the odds of being a great basketball player significantly increases with great athleticism.

For the record, no one but "basketball novice" thinks Gabe is better now or will be any time soon.
