Olaseni needs more minutes

he got 6 tonight in mopup but he looked more relaxed, and looked good rebounding, and i believe he got 1 block tonight
 
He probably had more athleticism than the 5 albinos MSU sent out in mop up time.....against real players.....not so much.
 
you can't get real experience unless you get to play reak minutes and you looks a hell of a lot better than Brommer at any point this season
 
Agree with herby. This year is about next year and Archie and Brommer aren't part of that plan. Olaseni moves his feet well and seems quick to the ball.
 
Quite trying to rush Gabe along. It will do him no good to go out and get killed by Nix and Green for extended minutes as a very raw freshman. Let him continue to learn the game and practice.

Yes, there is a reason he isn't playing much.
 
I think the double H brain trust are the only two pushing for more of Gabe in prime time. I like what I see in Gabe, but what I see is a young kid with little basketball experience to go along with his excellent basketball physique. Let Fran teach him a little longer before he gets thrown to the wolves.

Olesani was probably one of the top one or two most athletic guys who stepped foot on the court tonight.

But probably the worst basketball player.

The guy isn't going to be over matched athletically by anyone. He just doesn't know what he is doing yet on a basketball court.

Agreed, but in retrospect, it might have been best to redshirt him?
 
He needs to learn the game at some point and the best learning is doing. How is he going to get PT next season with Woodbury and Meyer ahead of him? I am not advocating throwing him to the wolves, but put him at the back of the press or to give somebody a breather before a TV TO. He has not embarassed himself on the court and you can't coach his wingspan and height. Worst case scenario he alters some shots and grabs a couple boards. Our bigs are not involved in the offense anyway, so he won't be screwing up anything on that end of the court.
 
I disagree that the best way to learn basketball is by doing it. If that where the case, every practice would simply be a scrimmage. Here is some news for you since you may have never seen an organized practice. They don't just scrimmage.
 
you get better by playing when the bullets are flying, in 5 minutes of playing time he got 3 rebounds it may have been in mopup but he still got them and will learn alot more off of the game tape, because even in mopup they still make misstakes
and it is from game film you can teach
tape of a player sitting on the bench does nobody any good
at this stage he cannot be any worse than Brommer
even Archie is playing better than Brommer
