So is it an auto suspension for next game or was that dude in the game thread wrong? (I know what you're saying. People wrong in a game thread? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO)
 
I don't believe he is out for the next game. I believe there is such thing as a flagrant technical which is essentially throwing a punch that could lead to missing a second game. However, I believe the NCAA changed the rule a few years back on a flagrant 2 foul so there wasn't anything other than the ejection from the current game.
 
I would have bet big $$ that it would have been ruled a flagrant 1 after the review.

In fact... I didn't even think it was worthy of that but I suppose I can slightly see why the ref went that way. No reason to have a game get out of hand when it had already been decided.

But there is no way that after the review that Gabe should have been rejected.

I hope Forever is right because it'd be a shame for him to miss a game on a terrible call.
 
That call was total BS. It was a hard foul to be sure but no was was it even an flagrant 1, let alone a 2. And the commentators where completely wrong in their inept assessment.
 
My bro in law is D1 ref. I sent him a text asking him for sure, but I sm pretty certain the NCAA changed the rule.
 
That was a pretty hilarious call. I liked the part when we got tackled/blocked at the hoop but not one was called the whole game cuz reasons, but the buck-tooth kid goes full blast out of control right at Olaseni and Gabe gets thrown out classic.
 
My question to everybody is how will this highly debatable flagrant 2 affect the officiating towards Olesani for the remainder of the season? We have seen in the past that these things seem to haunt our players all season.
 
Oh, Hawk fans, there was NO way Iowa was gonna win this game. First the 4-letter goes SEC then makes damn sure the competion (aka BTN) rep is ticky tacked to the consolation round.

Wulda helped to hit some front ends but that's Iwa bball.

Plus, house will b packed, unlike the morgue, during IA -TX game.

Speakin of morgue... THE IOWA BAND SUXXXX. Hawks bball outplayed in 2 nd half but IA band outplayed all nite. TX played 4-1. WTF - band freeloadin to NYC?? Horrible job!! Complete embarrassment!
 
Taylor tried to poster Gabe as he made very little effort to move left or right. Gabe I salute you and your "not in my house" defense. It was the clean play and one I hope he makes every time. If a guy tries to jump over you instead of around you...well, hope you enjoy the floor dude. Watch the replay, Taylor knew he was there and his angle was straight at Gabe. He wanted the ESPN highlight reel and got hardwood in his teeth.
 
I honestly think Taylor was stupid to go that hard to the rim when the game was out of reach....he had to known he was going to get fouled hard.

I said the same thing to my wife last night when we were watching it. Taylor was winding up trying to make the SC top 10 and got it put back in his face. The call was complete BS and the idiot doing color on the game was completely off his rocker by saying he thought it should be a flagrant 2 from the start. Good clean hard foul at best. Bobby Hansen made reference to something like this at the beginning of the second half with Holmes drive and dunk. He said in the NBA you do that once and the next time your teammates are helping you up off the floor.
